Here's the deal. I am fifteen and trying to lose weight, I am at an average weight and sorta short [five ft two inch] I do cheerleading and I usually excersize [speed walk for one hour] five times a week. I am a vegan. drink lots of water, never eat before bed, and am crazy about fruits. I need a list of veg food though that I can eat that are very low cal. Also does anyone know how fattening carrotss, chick peas, and legumes are?

Carrots are not fattening at all. I lost over 100 lbs when I was 15 and I ate a ton of carrots because I learned they were low calorie, good for you and filled up your stomach
The only bad side effect to eating too many carrots will be that your skin may actually turn a little tinge of orange. The orange tinge will go away when you reduce the intake of carrots. Carrots have beta carrotine which is a source of vitamin A but its a safe source, because your body will get rid of any excess of that which is necessary. Vitamin A itself can be toxic ( dangerous )if you take too much

Before making a drastic change in your diet, discuss it first with your parents and suggest they take you to a dietitian or doctor You need to make sure you don't have any life threatening allergies with respect to any particular food that is ok with the public in general )
Being a vegetarian is healthy, not to mention kind to animals but people who eat vegetarian often run a risk of not getting enough protein and especially not enough vitamin B-12. This can, perhaps, be corrected by taking brewers yeast or sublingual vitamin B-12
Legumes, peas, beans can be high calorie. You're not overweight now and you're active so you may be overconcerned about staying thin and conforming to today's culture which sometimes idolizes rail thin bodies. Don't fall into this trap. But today's society also has an obesity problem, and you don't want to get into the junk food, supersize mentality either.
15 is a very tough age. I was extremely overweight at that age. Be thankful that you are height weight proportionate and active. Habit is a powerful force for both good and bad, Develop good eating habits and stay with it now and the years to come and it will benefit your body and mind for the rest of your life.
There is a lot of controversy in nutrition. There are pro carb, anti carb, anti this and pro that, all over the place. Rely on your parents advise until you turn 18. Until then, learn all you can about the various views of what constitutes good nutrition. When you're an adult, you will hopefully have enough understanding and will be able to see through the hype and make decisions for yourself.
I'm very pro vegetable. Broccoli, cauliflower, spinach, carrots are low calorie and extremely healthy.
With fruits, you have to be more careful. They have fiber and vitamins, which is good, but many fruits are high calorie, and their sugar is fructose which is a less beneficial form of sugar.
Many fruits were, I believe, intended by nature to make their eaters fat. Many fruits, such as apples are usually only harvested in fall before the winter. ( Suppliers keep the apples harvested in fall in coolers to sell them in stores all year long ) The fruit trees wants animals such as bears to eat the fruit, get fat in the fall and in the process spread the seeds. This appears to be nature's design. Bears get fat on fruit in the fall, hibernate in the winter when they don't eat and are skinny again in the spring.
This is fine for bears, but we are not bears. We eat too much high calorie fruit, we get fat and we stay fat.
If you find you like and overeat a certain kind of fruit and it puts on more weight than you want, cut back on the portions. Just because its fruit doesn't mean you can eat all of what you want of it.
But its important to rely on your parent's advise. They may not take you seriously at first. But if you tell them its important, they may think about it and if they haven't already realized that nutrition is important, they will cooperate with you in opening up meaningful discussions about your dietary habits
If you're 5 feet two inches, I would guess that an ideal weight would be 115 lbs to 125 lbs. But your doctor is the one on whom you should rely because your ideal range may be different based on your musculature. My guess is that if you go below 115 you may by catering to society;s unrealistic demands to be thin perhaps at the expense of your health.

By nature, fruits and veggies are fat free and low calorie. Legumes are also low fat, containing all natural fats. What you're doing sounds good. I eat all-natural foods and maintain a good weight. Although I'm not working out, I'm still only 16 pounds heavier than what I was at the beginning of my pregnancy.

What makes fruits and veggies great is that one can almost have them unlimited, without worry.
