It might be because of atheists like me who donate to worthy causes like hurricane relief, tsunami relief, earthquake relief, ... See a pattern? However, if you object, I'll gladly stop contributing and let you pick up the slack.

The priest at my wife's Catholic church told the congregation one Sunday that the average parish family gives 9 cents a week. I'm an atheist and I send them $35/week! I'll bet the priest wishes the whole congregation was atheist.

I see. A person who is an athiest doesn't care about anyone else in the world. How is it hypocrisy to not believe in God but to care about the people you can see?

I hold that an atheist who does a good deed because making people happy is the right thing to do is morally superior to a religious person who does it to get into heaven and avoid eternal damnation.

What does Atheism have to do with charity?

Atheists aren't monsters. They are like everyone else, they just don't believe in a God and you don't have to to be a good and moral person.

Are you that deluded and ignorant to think that atheists don't care about other people?
