See an Optometrist or Ophthalmologist. They are specialized in eye care. You need a through eye exam to also test your depth perception , your peripheral vision, and they will check you for glaucoma. Only they can tell you the proper glasses you will need.

Once you have your script, go to the eye glass shop there they will assist you in picking out frames. You could also ask your Eye Doctor about Contacts.

You should go to an optometrist first, and get a perscription, and then you can basically go to any type of glasses store and get anything you'd like, and they customize the lenses for you.

The name for nearsightedness is Myopia. A good eye exam can determine what you need to see far clearly.
