there have been numerous documentaries and tv news shows on walmart. check the library. There are also walmart watchdog websites. Poke around, you'll find them.
One complaint is from town leaders who have found that all the tax revenue is eaten up by police and court time with all the shop-lifting and employee theft.

Wal Mart is a threat to any small town. But, in reality, it creates so many new jobs, cuts prices down and gives the community much of the needed merchandise. You can't beat the prices. One opened up in my small hometown about 10 yrs. ago. My dad owned a small hardware store. He sold chain saws and lawnmowers as well. Wal Mart came in, had $99 lawnmowers and my dad became a warranty fixer for the brands Wal Mart sold. He made more money off fixing Wal Mart's cheapy lawnmowers in one season than he did all year selling his own lawnmowers and chain saws combined!!
Food is cheaper. The whole community will do better with cheaper products they can purchase. And, you have to realize, too that the products are cheaper, but the quality is outstanding.

Try your hardest to keep that demon from your town. I live in a small town with a superwalmart. For groceries it is walmart or a very small, overpriced grocery. I could go on and on about how it has had a negitive effect on the town from closing down locally owned stores to the complete inconveniance of going into such a large store for a few things. Just google the "negative effects of walmart" or better yet "walmart sucks" to get other info and opinions

Don't be sheep. Wal Mart does not destroy businesses. really check out your facts. When Wal Mart opened here so many people screamed gloom and doom. Man it had absolutely the opposite effect. we are now putting in a Kohls and another smaller mall. So many people drive here from the places that Wal Mart was defeated we get an incredible boost, especially y at our restaurants and small specialty shops.

Go to the better buisness bureau and look up wal-mart. You will find all sorts of complaints. Put them down on a peice of paper or type them up. Show the town board and they might change their mind.

I believe there is a site called WakeupWalmart.com or something similar. It highlights all that's bad with Wal-Mart.

Hi,
Wallmart is a company of the NYSE, or SP500 (can't rememeber now). What you can do is either a take-over or a management buy out :-)
Kind regards,
José
