It's a reductio ad absurdum. Start with a premise you wish to disprove, then proceed until you hit a ridiculous premise.

God's thoughts aren't our thoughts and His ways so far from being our ways! Just because you can't understand Him, that won't stop Him from doing just what has to be done! and then you will know why it all had to go down just the way it has... What all we do or don't do, say or don't say, believe or don't believe, won't change an iota in the grand scheme of things... He will allow it to go until unless He interferes, what is being done, would kill all living things and because He won't allow even His gorgeous planet to be destroyed completely but will opt to destroy those who insist on destroying it first, and then the whole earth will be filled with the knowledge of Him! and the truth will fill the earth and the minds of all those dwelling on it... both the ones who never had to taste death at all and all of the resurrected ones alike! and then, when pain, informity, diseases, sorrow and tears, even death will have become a thing of the past, such questions will never have a reason for being ever again... The former things will have passed away... until then, it is all irrelevant! and meaningless! when the most anyone can really do is spread a seed of truth here, a fruit of joy there, etc. in the hope that it might take root but God's word was first and you can beleive that it will be the last! (what all we choose to do in the meantime is our business as He never was One to force anyone!) We all have a choice to make... and one choice at a time, we can make the ones that truly lead to Life! which will soon take over this virtual reality of what we call life! Since no one has ever experienced the real life God had intended for us all before a rebellious god stepped in, challenging the true God! who knew in His wisdom that he had to allow us to live and experience what life would be like without Him, the best is yet to come! when never again will He have to put up with such a rebellion from anyone ever again! The universal issue of who has the divine right to be the only and only true God will have been solved once and for all. Satan and his sad demons will be done away with and mankind will be free to just be who they were meant to be... loving, happy and peaceful with all others, until not just this planet is filled with them but many other ones throughout the universe as well... which weren't created simply for nothing but to be inhabited forever and ever... Amen

Christians tell people God is a loving God who protects and heals people and performs miracles so a logical person would question if He exists when they don't experience this.

First of all, it's a admission by those who claim to be athiest or agnostic that they do really believe there is a God and they know Who He really is!

Second, God doesn't 'kill children'. Sin in this world brought on by the action of Adam and Eve is responsible for all the evils here on earth.

God chooses to intervene or not at times for reasons only He knows.

Third, God IS very interested in all that goes on here, especially the non-believers:

Luke 15:7 I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.

I call it critical thinking. How can such a god exist that kills children? How can some people claim that god heals their cancers, but not regrow amputated limbs?

I think it is really interesting that some god-believers can believe in such a god.

God kills children?

The question is designed to make you think about how ridiculous it is to pray to something that doesn't exist. There is no "God". If there was, and he could answer any prayer and had the power to do anything, he could make a limb spontaneously regrow. People attribute all kinds of "miracles" to god, from curing cancer (in people who would have recovered anyway) to finding a good parking spot at the mall.
Things (good and bad) just happen. There is no "god".

Obvieusly since they are here. But it's not in fact the God issue that atracts the atheists, but the sociological and psychologcal things related to it. And I must admit, it is interesting to see how beliefs appeared and changed in time, how one religion became 10, 10 became 100 and each one thinks it has the original truth

That's easy...it's a typical device of debating...when you're on another side of the fence, one uses the other parties ideas to put a dent in the parties goals....If that makes any sense...then good, if it doesn't, then it's using the others own ammunition against them...

It is called scepticism. And it is rooted in unbelief. That is a sin. A person doing this is afraid to actually deny God, which means they are under the conviction of the Holy Spirit. But they express their unbelief through questions which burden God's people. Jesus said,'If you are not for me then you are against me'. They need to repent of their denials and humble themselves before God who can throw their body and soul into hell. God is love and has so much to offer us. Why hide behind unbelief and not receive all that He promises?
