There are many different sects of Buddhism
some Buddhists worship Buddha and make idols of him to worship to, however
Buddha generally rejected the idea of a Creator and thus did not want to be worshiped. Zen Buddhists are atheists, many sects of Buddhism do not worship Buddha. It is your view. But there is evidence that he existed. Whether you believe he is holy or not is up to you. However, I currently believe that there is one God and it is not Buddha. Buddha is Buddha, God is God.
