Has anyone here heard of the charismatic movement... if so, what is it exactly?

Something that has nothing what so ever to do with God's Word.

It "may have" started in the '70's, but I know for sure it didn't have anything to do with the Baptist. It's mostly the Pentecostal and "some" catholics. But to claim this stuff is not still going on around our country is wrong.

That was years ago like in the 70's
It was a movement of all faith's gathering together and they received the Holy Spirit and spoke in tongues
They began the worship and praise services we now know of
It was Lutheren, Baptist,Catholic,Methodist, Episcopalian, all faiths that I can't name now came together to a gathering together to find God, the mainstream Full Gospel Churches were not into it until later when they found it to be true and very real

They were Kids in the Lord and Tied into the Power of an Almighty GOD.

But, they hadn't Renewed Their Minds much (Studied to Show ThemSelves Approved) so they didn't know how to Handle that Power or Stay in that Power Realm!

It's a glorified term for the word "cult."
