If God exists, I think he probably prefers chaos. Why else would he have the arrow of time flow towards greater entropy?

You know better than to ask this question. But obviously you are not taking the time to read the bible for yourself. The bible says God will someday take away all tears and there will be no more pain. The devil and his followers will be destroyed in the lake of fire. I see things moving towards more order, not chaos. That is something I can appreciate. God is love. I think I love that.

Isn't order really just the human mind finding patterns in chaos? For example, if a computer is programmed to generate an infinite string of random numbers, it will eventually produce patterns like "1, 2, 3..." and "2, 4, 6..." Order is a necessary byproduct of chaos.

"Can't he appreciate evil, as its absolutely necessary for there to be any thing called good?"
Hmmmmm...maybe good can exist without evil. Maybe only the PERCEPTION of good necessitates evil, because otherwise you might not have the capacity recognize it (though you would enjoy its benefits).
As far as God would be concerned, though, if he had total control, I don't imagine it should really matter to him. It might matter to him that imperfect beings feel ENOUGH of a sense of order, just for the sake of having enough of a grasp on reality to contemplate his word, but just enough chaos and thus mental instability to make it possible to actually BELIEVE his word. Otherwise, chaos and order are all the same to one with omnipotence, I would think.

God does not appreciate evil. He hates it, but he hates the evil itself not the person who comits it. As to following a certain community toy just have to follow the law of God which are the Ten commandments and the teachings of his prohets and Jesus.

(2 Corinthians 13:11) Finally, brothers, continue to rejoice, to be readjusted, to be comforted, to think in agreement, to live peaceably; and the God of love and of peace will be with YOU.
(1 Corinthians 14:33) For God is [a God], not of disorder, but of peace. As in all the congregations of the holy ones,

I believe that God loves order. Why else would there be so many different species of plants and animals that are so closely related to one another? It makes me think of a great chef that makes his menu, they are very complementary but just different enough to work beautifully together.

"For GOD is not a GOD of disorder but of peace....everything should be done in a fitting and orderly way." - I Corinthians 14
But your second point is correct - by definition there can be no good without evil.
