Hey, I'm looking for other bands to listen to but I'm into the heavy metal, metal bands but I'm also religious... so I'm wondering if there are any heavy metal bands that are don't make fun of Jesus or God

It would be very helpful if you can, and thanks

PS if the band does but only on a some songs like Korn thats ok too

If God is convicting you about your music, definately look into some heavy metal Christian music. My brother in law used to love Pantera and things like that. Now he lists these as his favorite bands:

Israel Houghton, Clint Brown, Jonny Lang, Killswitch Engage, Dream Theater, Living Sacrifice, POD, Lifehouse, Lindell Cooley, Jason Upton, Sanctus Real, Demon Hunter, Project 86, Chevelle, Demon Hunter - Not Ready to Die

I think there might be some praise and worship bands in there are he's a worship leader now. But I used to listen to Metallica and the such, and he told me to try project 86. I know his favorites are Living Sacrifice and Demon Hunter. And about Chevelle, he says he bought it at the Bible Bookstore, so he insists it must be Christian music.
Good luck...stick by your convictions.

God is just not metal...you have to learn to be able to handle criticism of your faith. Trust me, it will happen, but music is an expression of emotions and there are a LOT of people who have been burned by religion and find solace in metal's black bosom.

You can learn to appreciate the other point of view...or just listen to dragonforce like everyone else and never expand your consciousness.

Check out the original Black Sabbath and Alice Cooper.
They had a bad reputation, but if you listen to what they say it is a positive Christian message. Alice Cooper teaches Sunday School these days...

Alice Cooper is actually a born again Christian and on his last couple of albums (especially "Dragontown") he's become more and more vocal about his beliefs in his songs. And if you really listen to Ozzy Osbourne he's not anti-spirituality either.

Well, they're more "symphonic" metal than anything, but I love Nightwish. None of their songs are anti-religion.

I also really like Iced Earth and Blind Guardian.

Well, of course there is P.O.D., and other christian rock bands.

Sammy Hagar, Van Halen, AC/DC, Poison, are some bands that don't use overtly satanic images. Don't know a lot of new bands today.
