In my opinion NYC is more charming during the winter and specially in December with all the Christmas light everywhere, the weather is not yet freezing, and if we are lucky we might see some snow...
There are plenty of excellent 5 star hotels. However boutique hotels are getting very popular here and some of them are absolutely stunning and excellency in services.
Here are some names:

- the Ganservoort HOtel (in Meat Pack District)
- the Gramercy Park Hotel (by Gramercy Park). Super luxury and cool. Kirste Dunst always stays there.
- Tribeca Grand hotel
- W New York (W Hotels are always good)
- Hudson Hotel (the best looby in my opinion)
- 60 Thompson Hotel (new hotel in Soho)
- Rivington Hotel (in the Lower East Side)
- The Maritime Hotel (Meat Packing/Chelsea)

Like Paris and London, NYC lights up with good cheer during Christmas time. The Marriot and Sheraton in Times Square are good if you like the generic hotel feel. If you want a hotel with personality try the Chelsea Hotel on 23rd Street. If those are out of your price range, try the Pennsylvania Hotel on 34th Street.

I could reccomend Central Park most likely--take out a row boat or play frisbee or sunbathe or simply stroll across the park. Also, I wager, the Empire State Building. Like the stereotype approximately new yorkers, I've certainly not been up there, however wherever wherein you'll be able to get a view of the skyline is rather mighty (seem whilst or if you are flying in--there is not anything like that skyline to can help you recognise you are residence). I wager the Brooklyn Bridge could be the excellent skyline view and you'll be able to stroll throughout it in the event you desire, however I do not always reccomend that, however in the event you like going for walks, why now not. Also, most likely cross via Times Square. If you wanted extra motivation I reside there and it is nice, despite the fact that I generally do not cross beyond 1 / 4 of what you ahould see. BTW, if you are staying on the Carter, my cousins stayed there a couple of years in the past and I visited their room and it used to be lovely disgusting--grime within the sink and stuuff like that. so heads up.
