Preparation:
Chilling: Keep the food cool, for when you go to use it
Marinating: Adding a flavor, ussually to a meat or vegetable, to overall make it more flavorful when you go to cook
Rising: Adding yeast to a dough, and letting it sit and rise

Cooking:
Grilling: Put food on a grill, and heating it
Baking: Putting food in a oven, overall cooking it
Frying: Putting food in oil

Serving
Plating: Putting food on a plate

Edgar's answer gives you some of them, but I can think also of braising and searing meats and sauteeing veggies right off.

Why don't you review the prep methods for a bunch of recipes including appetizers, main courses, side dishes and desserts to pick up their terms and then look up their definitions?

Ya know kid if you invested a couple of hundred points or so and asked individual questions you would stand a good chance of getting them all answered .By asking your question this way you stand a zero chance of getting an answer
