Isn't it all God's words?

And if you say "Well the Bible was actually written by man some 2000 years ago (NewTestament) and has been translated over and over again until the printing press was invented. So not everything in it is true."

If you come to that conclusion then:

1. How can you trust anything in the Bible as a fact?
2. Shouldn't everything in the Bible be cast in the same kind of doubt that creationism is, even Jesus Christ?

1. I don't trust everything that is in the current version of the Bible. However, that does not mean I disrespect the Bible.

2. Of course. It is the power of the mind that urges one to question any belief. It is a fundamental human tendency. If any religion is that correct, why should anyone have any problem if anyone casts a doubt?

How true....the Bible is the truth of God and he has no need to use evolution to create the universe. In fact, the creation account in Genesis has no room for evolution. God created everything in 6 solar days about 4000 BC and when he was done, "everything was good" not something that came to be after millions of years of death and suffering. It states that He created light before the sun, moon and stars which is in direct conflict with cosmic evolution. Genesis 1:1 states "In the beginning" which leaves no room for anything before creation...no universe, no time, no natural laws. The universe had a beginning and it will have an end when God creates "a new heaven and a new earth"
Creation and evolution are diametrically opposed...either one is true or the other. When people doubt the Bible account of creation and try to fit evolution into it, which is not necessary since evolution is false and impossible anyway, they cast doubts on the truth of the rest of the Bible.
We can trust that God does not lie---His Word is true. We just need to understand it and accept it at face value for what it says.

The Bible is a collection of 66 different books, some history, some poetry, some songs, some letters, as well as the rules of an ancient religion . . . written over the span of thousands of years, thousands of years ago. Problems arise when people can't tell one from another, and confuse them into each other.

Problems also arise when you try to take a rule written for and by a certain group of people, and apply it to your life today (taking your disobedient child to the gates of the city to stone him, for example). Or, if you "believe" the word of Jesus when he says it's better to pluck out your eye, than allow it to cause you to sin, are you a member of a church that plucks out eyes and cuts off hands?

People tend to focus on the words in the Bible, and miss the message behind the story. The creation story of Genesis 1 and 2, for example, are poetry, (God and The Lord, are two different words, written by two different people, but it's difficult to see that on your own reading in English) the message is that God is powerful, neither of which is a history lesson.

The Bible is a fantastic collection of stories written by, about, and for the followers of the God of Abraham, and the followers of Christ.

Of course the Bible isn’t THE WORD OF GOD . . . it’s translated into a language we can understand – Jesus didn’t speak English, for example.

But the Bible is God’s Word . . . meaning the message, not the medium or the method, is what God tries to tell us.

Being a follower of Christ is about having a personal relationship with a risen Savior, not about a book. The Bible is important, but God speak to us in many different ways, not just through the Bible.

So, for you to compare the creation story, written five thousand years ago, to the resurrected Christ who people witnessed, is to compress scripture in a sadly juvenile way.

By simplifying the Bible, you reduce it to little more than a Reader's Digest article -- simple answers to simple questions.

I'm a pastor in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ.). Most pastors who actually attended seminary can explain this to you in person.

Godspeed you on your journey of discovery.

I believe that our day is 24 hrs, it takes that long for the earth to make a full spin.. I also believe that the
universe is Gods "planet" and it took much longer
for it to turn 6 times=6 days.. the bible says
my ways(gods) are not your ways(Man)
well that sorta explains it to me.
its true the other planet have different hours to
make a day, but whatever the case.. god wont lie.
I accepted christ and it has changed me.
try and see for yourself, I say that as a friend in
christ

God/Jesus created evolution so His life forms can change when they need to and live. The Bible is correct, but you choose to not understand.

Good Q! If they dont believe in the creation account as told by God Himself then the very foundation of their faith is faulty.
