"And there followed him a certain young man, having a linen cloth cast about his naked body; and the young men laid hold on him: And he left the linen cloth, and fled from them naked."

Kinda reminds me of John 13:23: "Now there was leaning on Jesus' bosom one of his disciples, whom Jesus loved."

I wonder why Christians hate gays so bad now?

A true Christian doesn't hate anyone. However, you are twisting the scripture. This scripture is referring to the mob that arrested Jesus. The young man's garment came off as the mob tried to seize him and he fled in fear for his life. No mention of homosexual activity.

The passage in context:

Mark 14:43 Just as he was speaking, Judas, one of the Twelve, appeared. With him was a crowd armed with swords and clubs, sent from the chief priests, the teachers of the law, and the elders.

44 Now the betrayer had arranged a signal with them: "The one I kiss is the man; arrest him and lead him away under guard." 45 Going at once to Jesus, Judas said, "Rabbi!" and kissed him. 46 The men seized Jesus and arrested him. 47 Then one of those standing near drew his sword and struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his ear.

48 "Am I leading a rebellion," said Jesus, "that you have come out with swords and clubs to capture me? 49 Every day I was with you, teaching in the temple courts, and you did not arrest me. But the Scriptures must be fulfilled." 50 Then everyone deserted him and fled.

51 A young man, wearing nothing but a linen garment, was following Jesus. When they seized him, 52 he fled naked, leaving his garment behind.

1. I don't hate anyone.
2. This question is the reason that people who don't understand the Bible shouldn't try to interpret it. The "young man" was not naked. He was wearing clothing (or at least, one cloth). When the soldiers arresting Jesus tried to lay hands on him, he was in such a hurry that he let them have his garment, and ran off naked. I would imagine that he was probably actually one of Jesus' disciples.
3. Once upon a time, men could be affectionate towards other men, and women could be affectionate towards other women, without ANY connotations in it. It's a cultural thing. In many other cultures (apart from most Western ones), it's perfectly normal for two men or two women to hold hands, or embrace, or give/receive kisses on the cheek.

He wasn't naked when he was following Jesus. He was wearing a linen garment (under our garments, aren't we all naked?).

When the soldiers came and seized Jesus, they grabbed the young man as well, but he tore out of his garment and fled.

I don't know whether you're just trying to bash Christians or if you really are as intellectually dishonest as you appear to be...
maybe a little bit of both, hmmm?

what in the world does those scriptures have to do with anything gay? Do you have any idea what you are even reading. When you take a scripture and isolate it like you did, it is just like taking a sentence out of a book and trying to figure out what the novel is about. Impossible.

The boy (who many think was Mark) was wearing a nightshirt, quite common in those days as sleepwear for children. He didn't have a full business suit on. Sorry that you're a Puritan and can't handle it.

I wonder if that's why there are so many gay priests I can see how that passage can be misinterpreted.
