The Bible contains various stories which involve demons possessing humans, such as the one where Jesus cast the demons out of a man and they flee into some pigs. The pigs then drown themselves and the demons are gone. (I can't recall where this story is found but I'd love it if someone could remind me)

Yes demons are the 1/3 of the angels that took the side of Satan and was cast out of heaven with Satan, those demons that went into the pigs are not gone they are still alive and well today and will continue to roam the earth until judgment day.

The story where Jesus cast the demons out of the man can be found in Mark 5:1-20. The bible does make it clear what demons are - from my knowledge there also called evil spirits and are followers of satan (aka the devil/Lucifer). The bible definetly states that Lucifer was once an angel - in fact God's favourite angel. But he was cast down to earth because he rebelled against God - he wanted to be greater than God, and so God cast him down along with other angels. And in answer to your question, yes, demons are still active on earth. You can find many stories about people casting out demons/evil spirits by using the same power that Jesus had. But, it depends on whether you want to believe it or not.

I'm too lazy to look up the story about the demon-possessed swine, but I know it's in the NT, probably Matthew. Look it up in the back of your Bible. The Bible makes it VERY clear about demons. They are the dark forces that work for Satan. I do believe that they are of the fallen angels spoken of in Genesis. When Lucifer was kicked out of Heaven, so were a third of the angels. We call them demons. Yes, they are still as active on Earth as ever. More so, actually. The Bible states that in the latter days, demon possession would be widespread.

Lucifer is a fallen angel and many other angels chose to follow him. This is according to bible teachings. But you have to keep in mind that this was a very long time ago. If you really want to get in to the nitty gritty of things,we as humans create the majority of "demons" everyday with our negative actions,thoughts and emotions. Demons are the angels that were kicked out of heaven along with Lucifer. They all have their appointed duties under the leadership of Lucifer. They carry out their duties and will continue to do so until God completes His plans. The only kink in their plans is our ability to nullify them through the power of the Holy Spirit because of the blood of Christ that was shed for us. They really don't like true Christians, for they have the ability to dismantle any plans Satan has made.

Yes, essentially, demons are fallen angels who sided with Lucifer, probably some time before the Fall of Man. They are very much active, although you most likely won't see on in physical form, I personally know people who have literally seen demons.
The bible doesn't really talk much about demons or angels though. I believe many of the books in The Apocrypha (non-canonical books of the bible) deal with that sort of thing. It is where the names of many demons and angels come from.

NO......... the "e book" of enoch has no authority in this... it isn't a God inspired artwork there's a "classic" questioning that demons are the effect of devil attempting, and failing, to create existence as God did...... and some do trust that they are the fallen angels...... in spite of everything, they are element of the forces of evil managed by technique of devil..... and as a effect very risky........ demonic possession is an extremely genuine prevalence... a lot more suitable so as that maximum trust
