If you put two lonely people together, they can cure each other. It is wonderful. Find some other lonely person and make this world a better place. I would be honored to be your friend, and I find shy people to be the nicest people on the planet.

Based on the question and talking to mom it sounds like you are young.
This is speculation. All teenagers will go through hormonal bouts and feelings can skyrocket.
You ask how do U get over it?
How do you get over what? Is this something that you can get over? Is this something that you can fix?

If not it never hurts to talk to a professional. However I do not think that Xanax at a young age is an answer.

Possible for an anti-depressant but I would not take a prescription on a whim from your general doctor. I would speak to a psychologist first to see if they are able to help you work through what you are going through.

Sorry and not to knock mom. here is the BUT -- If this is happening to her as well then she should also speak with someone because it is not normal to cry for no reason frequently. You and all other people have feelings and you will laugh and cry BUT there is usually a reason for this and it does not happen for no reason and you might get past "it" but you will never get over "it".

The human mind takes in 2 BILLION pieces on information every second. To maintain sanity you can only process 5 + or - 2 dependent on your mood. So if there is an underlying problem then a professional might help you get past it.

Thanks

Well, I guess it could be hormones. All I can say is you have to get over this somehow. You need to talk to a therapist. You need to be sure to eat a well balanced diet--fruits, veggies, yogurt, some chicken and meat, cereal and rice, drink a lot of water. Take a woman's multi-vitamin that is high in B vitamins, clacium, magnesium and vitamin C Be grateful for what you have, take joy in the simple things and nature, help others, tell yourself that you are a good person, work hard in school. Get outside in the sunshine 20 minutes every day and exercise in some way--walking, running, riding your bike. You and your Mom should work on this together and lean on each other when you are going through these moods and try to find something to laugh about. Maybe sit and watch some old comedies like "I Love Lucy" and laugh together. Look good every day--shower, shampoo your hair, launder your clothes and buy some cute clothes, wear a little make up, get a nice hair cut, you and your mom should do each other's nails and toes.

Sometimes depression is hereditary, but I'm willing to bet it's based on the fact that you go through the same routine day in and day out?

What do you do for fun? Who do you hang out with? What would make your life more interesting?

Come up with honest answers to these 3 questions and make an attempt to make a change or two where at least one or two of those questions are concerned...and I'll bet you'll get over some of the depressing thoughts you currently have?

Antidepressant Medications

More than 14 million Americans, or more than 6 percent of adults, experience depression in any given year. Despite these statistics, depression is not a normal part of life, regardless of your age, sex, or health status.

The good news is that depression is very treatable. Most patients, even those with severe depression, show improvement after they seek treatment. Your doctor will prescribe treatment based on the pattern of your depression, its severity, persistence of symptoms, and history.

If your doctor prescribes antidepressant therapy, give it time. It may take four weeks or more before you notice a change in your mood, and possibly longer before you feel the full benefits of medication.

Your doctor will decide how long you need to stay on antidepressant medication. Following your doctor’s directions is critical to your depression treatment success.

tips on depression

It takes time for antidepressants to work. Although you may start to feel better within a couple of weeks, the full antidepressant effect may not be seen for several weeks. It is important to be patient and give the medicine a chance to work.

It's going to be okay! I feel like that sometimes too (except not so severe but that's not the point) What I suggest is going to see a therapist or someone who you can talk to but also can prescribe medication especially since it seems like it runs in the family. I take Zoloft and I feel much better than I felt before it. My mother and I both have anxiety/ slight depression so I understand how you feel. Good luck and God bless you!

I find myself depressed sometimes, but I always just tell myself that I have so many more years to live, and to have fun. And just to think about how many people love being with you.

I think the best cure for me is just to pray. I am a proud Christian, and praying helps a lot for me.
Also, I believe in being as optimistic as possible. Just to think about all the great things you have, how fortunate you are to be living, to be alive, to be healthy, to have a roof above your head, to be using a computer, to go to school.. just think those who are out there with nothing, literally nothing, and yet they still try to be as optimistic as possible, and they tell themselves they have a reason to live.. and us, being so fortunate, have reasons to live.
Live. Laugh. Love. That's all there is to it.

If none of this helps, it's always nice to talk to a counselor. There are counselors out there for a reason, and that reason is to help people like you. You and your mother should both go visit one if you have time. =) Good luck, I wish you the best!

The cause could be masturbation. I'm not kidding if you do masturbate you will get these kinds of feelings. Depression, loneliness, low self-esteem etc.

Listen i'm sorry if i violated your privacy but that is the only cause i can think of that makes this stuff happen. Don't report me ok :).

Hi Jess, I have been feeling the same way lately. I have a lot of crying spells and mood swings. I will be fine one minute and the next minute really down.
I saw my doctor and I was put on Paxil. I suggest you and your mom see your doctors and talk to him/her about it. Good luck to you both

Jess, you should definitely go talk to a professional about your reoccuring thoughts. They are not uncommon feelings among a lot of people, but the feelings aren't normal. I used to feel that way until I went to see a therapist. It helped a lot. Good luck. :-)
