guy 1: i have known him for like 8 years. we were never like super good friends, but we talk and hang out. ok so sometimes i see him (out of the corner of my eye) looking my way. i cant really tell if he likes me or not but i have a feeling. hes quiet and smart, but not the best with girls.
guy 2: this guy i really think he likes me. i havent known him for a long time, but he shows more signs than guy 1. he likes to (just messing around) hold my arm, and put his arm around me. but its just so annoying. he cant be serious at all. i cant tell!? he (at lunch) asked me to our dance, but when i said "seriously?" (cause i had NO idea) he just started laughing and was like im just kidding. it made me mad.
Will either of these guys ask me out?!?!

Guy 2 obviously likes you, and was serious when he asked you out but you hurt his feelings by saying, "seriously?" and I very much doubt that he will ask you out again. So if you want to date him then it's definitely your move, to say something along the lines of he took you by surprise but your answer's yes. That's the only way anything will happen with him, there's ho telling how long it took him to get the nerve to ask you and in his eyes you shot him down.

Guy 1... hard to tell with the info you gave and not knowing him, but one way to get a better idea is to do some little things like rest a hand on his arm when you're talking to him. See how he reacts. If he blushes or seems nervous, given his seemingly shy nature this would mean that he probably has a thing for you. He seems either too shy or to lack the self-confidence so probably will not ask you out unless you drop some pretty heavy hints, especially considering it's been 8 years.

well hon, i think the second guy wanted to go to the dance with you but was incredibly shy and backed out of it b/c he may have though u weren't going to say "yes" but make mock him

I mean the 2nd guy may be a clown b/c he's nervous of you and you said it annoys you.

It seems the 1st guy is a better catch, unless, deep down, u do dig the 2nd guy.

Anyways, why wait for them, y don't u pick one and ask him to the dance?! If for some reason he can't go, ask the other.

*As you get older, you'll realize, if you want something done, unless you get a prince charming, you got to instigate it yourself and teach these boys! Boys these days just lack maturity and a spine sometimes.

Guy1 sounds like a typical smart guy, doesn't know how to
handle situations with the fairer gender.

Guy2 sounds like you are just interested in him because he
pays some attention to you, no matter how annoyed you are
with it.

If I were you, I would just straight up ask Guy1 if he would
like to accompany you to the dance. Make small talk,
find out what you two like in common & take it from there.

If you insist on going after Guy2, don't be surprised if he
stops talking to you soon as you put out, or treat you even
worse if you don't.

Here is a simple, one-step test to see if a guy is interested in you: if a male (who is not an immediate family member) doesn't have to talk to you but he still does, then he's interested in you. It really is that simple.

I think guy #1 has fallen into the "friend trap", that place where you put guys that you're a bit too comfortable with, and it's hard for him to get himself out of that place in your mind. But you can release him from that trap - just tell him straight out that you like him and find him attractive and want to take things to the next level with him and see if it goes where you want it to.

And if you're under 30 you don't need (or want!) a "boy friend" anyway, you need to keep playing the field; dating and experimenting and having fun with lots of different guys, including guys that are not the least bit like you. How are you going to know what you like/don't like if you don't find out for yourself?

It sounds to me like you owe it to yourself to date both of these guys a few times, otherwise you'll always wonder what could have been...

Just don't get locked into an exclusive relationship. You need to have lots of fun with lots of different people, and always practice safe sex.

i think guy 2 was serious about asking you to the dance but felt shot down/embarassed when you said "seriously?!" so he was like "j/k" so that he didn't look bad. I think guy 2 is pursuing you more but guy 1 might be a better boyfriend.... i don't know them, you know them... you need to think about which has the qualities that you like most and stick with that.

actually no. guy 1 likes you a lot, hes shy and nervous because as you say hes not good with the girls. guy 2 is just like every outgoing guy, he plays around and acts stupid and maybe you dont see it but he does it to a lot of girls. some guys are just like that unfortunatley and do you really wanna be involved with someone so playful? guy 1, just talk to him and give him attention

Yeah they will ask you out eventually. Maybe in 3 months, yeah that's what I'm thinking.

Don't wait to be asked out, flirt in both directions and make something happen.
