Catholics are the biggest branch of cristianity, and sometimes they separate themselfs from the rest of christians, cause they think (like all religions do) that they are the real christians, the original and who keep the old traditions

A lot of people here have given you the basis of a solid answer. Yes, Catholicism is a Christian faith. In fact, it's the original Christian faith. People differentiate sometimes between Catholicism and Christianity because in modern times, Christianity has become a much broader spectrum than just Catholicism - Protestantism in its early form dates back around 500 years, and since then, has evolved into a startling myriad of denominations, all of which are Christian even though - as you've seen from some answers - they actually believe that OTHER Christians are going to Hell. As an atheist, I have to tell you, this makes me nearly wet myself laughing, but anyway...Because Catholicism has stayed RELATIVELY unchanged, and Protestantism has diversified soooo much, it can often seem like Catholicism and "the rest of Christendom" are two separate things. They're really not - they all believe in following the teachings of a Nazarene carpenter from roughly 2000 years ago, as reported in a bunch of "authorised" books. The only differences are in how the guy is worshipped, interpreted and followed. But they're all Christians, ultimately.

Yes. Catholicism is a branch of Christianity. Christianity is an umbrella term for all Christ-based (Christian) religions, including Catholic, Protestant, and their respective denominations.

Yes. The Catholic Church is just a branch of Christianity. See, catholics believe that Christ was the savior just like other Christians. The only variation is the way they worship or perform certain rights, like baptism. For instance, Catholics believe in Purgatory and practice pentanence, unlike other branches. There are even different branches of the Catholic church, though they are considered Protetestant, they consider themselves Catholics. Since the Catholic church has such a huge following, many people think it ranks with Christianity.

Essentially Protestants derived/descended from the Catholic Church and many of th teachings are the same - just like if a Christian were to attend a sabbath service, they would note that many of the core teachings were the the same.

Note though, that if a catholic, a protestant and a first century Christian were to meet and talk, the protestant and the catholic would probably think that the first century Christian was really strange in their beliefs.

You cannot sterotype all catholics. Catholic doctrine does not always line up with the bible, but many catholics know that. Faith, hope ,and love remain, and many cathlolics walk in these gifts. However, doctrine is given for correction and refusal to be corrected could result in God's wrath being poured out. Many protestant churches also have faulty doctrines. I think the reasons are political, because the average person can understand a great deal of doctrine and can actually discern when denominations are in error in their teaching. Jesus told the pharisees that they make void the word of God by their traditions(customs). We are told to be led by the Holy Spirit not the traditions of man.

There is only one Church...and that Church was founded by Jesus Christ upon the Apostles, and continues to this day in the Catholic Church.

It is the Protestant ecclesial communities that broke away from Christ's Church during the 16th century.....not the other way around.

We wrote the Bible......the Bible is a Catholic Book.

You can not become more of a Christian that be a Catholic in good standing with the Church living the Gospels.

Not all of them. same as Baptist, Methodist, Nazarene,
Pentecostal etc. These are labels of a belief system.
A person is a Christian who
1 ADMITS that he is a sinner
2 BELIEVES Jesus is the Savior
3 CONFESSES Jesus is the Son of God
A Christian can be any denomination.

Yes, they are. I know what you're talking about, though....in the Midwest, some folks talk about being Catholic and being Christian as though they were two different things.
