What they've been fighting about since the beginning of time, power, politics, land, money. Just look at history, the Roman Empire, the Egyptians, the Vikings, the Goths, the Huns, it's all the same. And, unfortunately, it's not going to change. Everyone thinks they have the answer, but there is no answer.............. all will remain the same until the end of time.

Not all conflicts stem from Religion. Power and Territory were major causes for war in the past and continue to be so today. Also today Oil is a big concern and motive for war and conflict. And even if we had no religion we would still have some form of beliefs and there would always be an oppser to those beliefs.

Adolph Hitler and the Nazis attacked Poland for "lebensraum". In short, to expand the nations boundaries. Religion is not the only reason for violence. In fact, it is generally not the real reason, just a convenient excuse and/or a way to get the ignorant masses to "rally 'round the flag". "If God is on our side then who can be against us?" y'know.

The use of religion is possible because in the public arena it is "reduced to the lowest common denominator" so to speak. The lowest common denominator is the level of understanding that the great majority of the people can wrap their little pea-brains around. Usually, almost always, it involves a concept of God as a big human being in the sky who has super powers - except for morality and mentality. Just as religious people five hundred years ago couldn't get it in their heads that the world wasn't the center of the universe - and darn near sent Galileo to the inquisitors for suggesting it- today they can't get it through their heads that they aren't the reason for the creation and existence of the universe. And that is why religion is such a good way to sway the masses to kill one another so Dick Cheney and cronies can get more for their barrels of oil.

Here on this message board, peace would be blank. There are plenty of crimes to consider under this term of "war," and no one bothers to blame most of it on religious differences.

But actual war, on a killing scale, is not and scarcely ever was about religion. That was just the excuse.

BTW i really like crickets, even in the house!

LOL -- An atheist at war with a scientist --

"I should shoot You dead! Why are You always so RIGHT!"

"Well, You're just as right as i am, so stop it!"

End of argument. Not much fun, eh?

Land, Money, Freedom, Respect, Power.

Same things they're fighting for now.
Religion is not the source for all fighting and wars.

People have greed issues mostly......
Although there are some wars that are fought over religion....people are not always fighting about that.

Land, power, and other methods of control over other human beings, with a specific emphasis in materials and commodities that would ensure the dominion of each combatant's children. I think that, without a focus on the afterlife, people would superimpose the idea of an afterlife on the future, represented in their children. Therefore, the most bitter battles (political, social and military) will be fought over things that will affect future generations.

They would come up with something.
I am sad to say that some people aren't happy unless there is some kind of conflict.

Politics. These are the two subjects you never discuss with a large group of people so if there was no religion it would be politics.
