if not can u change a co-signer?

The only way to get off that loan is for the car to be refinanced in only the owner's name. If he doesn't qualify on his own, you are stuck. When you co-sign, you're telling the lender, "If he doesn't pay, I will."

My advice is never co-sign for anyone for anything.

The loan was a contract based on your credit. You would have to get the lender's approval, which would only be provided either because the other borrower has improved his credit standing, or by substituting another co-signer of equal or better credit standing.

Only if the primary qualifies for the whole loan. They can refinance and take you off.

u have to go into the loans officer to talk to him about removing urself from the loan. i think u have to take back the car in order to do that.
