They reject God cause they dont like His rules. Especially the one about love thy neighbor.
See what I mean! They already gave me a bunch of thumbs downs.

I personally can't speak for other atheists, but I view it thusly:
I don't believe in any particular G/god(s) but cannot rule out the existence of some being that could be termed a "god". Because of the lack of evidence for or against such a being existing, I must withhold judgment.
In speaking of the Abrahamic concept of God in particular, I think it's remarkably unlikely that such a being exists, based on the available evidence. I reject that concept of God as impossible.
PS @ Drama Is Underrated
Argumentum ad Ignorantiam is still a logical fallacy, no matter how loudly you say it.

I can't speak for all atheists. I reject the existence of God based on a lack of evidence during a search for said evidence during a period in my life when I actually wanted God to exist.

A true 'atheist' (a=no, not; theos=god) declares there is NO GOD. An atheist could change his mind and would then be one who, as you say, did "not yet believe in God." By the way, many self-identifying 'atheists' say there is just no way to 'prove' God one way or the other; they aren't 'atheists' but 'agnostics' (a=no, not; gnosis=to know). Since it's true that there's no true and absolute 'evidence' either way, I've always felt that agnostics are the only honest ones, saying we just can't really know. . . (and I'm not agnostic, by the way!)

Most Atheists do not believe in gods based on insufficient proof(intelligence)
At one time I actually was a believer, until I questioned things myself and stopped being led like a sheep

Simple....Atheists do not believe in any god.Or the possibility of the existence of god...Regardless of evidence or no evidence....They believe that prayer does them no good, but do believe in the goodness of people in general.

We think there's nothing to fear about death, and we're not willing to surrender our power to recognize, judge and improve. Scientific findings are more plausible for how we got here, how the universe came to be, and medical futures possibly curing next and next diseases. We believe character is innate, and genetic or chemical imbalances or both form those of us who are innately hurtful, "bad", or criminal. We assume responsibility for the kinds of lives we have.

i don't believe in god because its just a story like any other story, plus it has a lot of holes in it. i also find it odd that people from one place are one religion while people on the other side of the world are a completely different religion and both will fight to the death that they are right

Atheists have no belief in gods. They do not have a belief that there are no gods. There is a complete lack of belief where gods are concerned. Everyone is an atheist. Those who believe that there is only one god are atheists as far as the other 2500 or so named gods are concerned. I just go one god further.
