The normal grey and cinnamon and pearl mutations are the easiest to sex. Once they reach maturity the male will have a bright yellow head while the females will be the same or close to the body color. (male pearls also tend to loose the pearling on there first molt but not always) With any mutation except pied once they have reached maturity look under the tail feathers. Female will have barring on the underside of the feathers (on a Luntino and Albino (aka Luntino-Whiteface) you will have to look very closely). Pied are almost impossible to sex without DNA testing.

What is the mutation?????

Some mutations can be easily visually sexed while others can't & hteir are a number of ways to tell in those that can be visually sexed but unless you know the mutation of your tiel no one can tell you if it can be visually sexed or not.

EDIT: Lutinos can be visually sexed by under their tails & wings. They have bright to very faint cream/yellowish spots or bars under their tails & wings. This indicates a female. Males have the solid one colour under tail & wings. Some lutinos can be very hard to see with the naked eye & you do need GOOD eyes & a very close look to see the spots & barring.

I am a little confused about the lutino gray pied-orange cheek???? You can get pieds that mostley look grey, but they're pieds, not lutino pied. They can't be visually sexed.

Are you 100% certain your albino is albino? I'm sure they only have red eyes. You may have a white face lutino. These cannot be visually sexed. Albino's also can't be visually sexed.

The most reliable way is a DNA test, which any avian vet can do for you easily. You can also look at the feathers under the tail--females will have faint stripes on them. Females will also have spots or bars under their wings. This only goes for mature females, over 6 months old and after they have molted for the first time. Also, it is not reliable for pieds.

Female cockatiels will have pale spots underneath the real tip of the wing just under the arm pit, males have a straight colour. Also males tend to be of brighter colour where as females are duller in complexion.

Male cockatiels have a bright yellow head and crest and the red circle on both sides of the head is brighter than the hen.

Take them to a pet store in their cage, and ask a clerk to do the sexing for you ... you can NOT take your cockatiels INTO the store in most cases, but pet stores do this all the time, because it's 'good advertising.' You should have had them 'sexed' when you got them ... unless these are babies your cockatiels hatched ... in which case I'm jealous ... I miss my cockateils and now all the 'babies' I get are FISH.
