I love deep tan walls with black furniture but the blue carpet would ruin it. Any Chance you can change the carpet to a neutral color like tan? Otherwise, how about slip covers for your black furniture with a pattern and/or color that matches the carpet...or are your end tables black too...because then that wouldn't work. Maybe just paint the walls white but put a boarder up that includes the same colors of your furniture and the carpet. This would help draw it all together.
Good luck

If this was my room, I would paint the walls a cream color. Cream will add a warm, cheery air to the room, without making it overly "happy", haha. You may even want to add a black stripe about 1 foot high around the middle of the wal the goes throughout the entire room.

you could use swatches of light paint and try to figure out from there what would look best in your living room, then ask for paint in that color or ask an interior designer what they think or maybe an off-white color....swatches are costly so take a picture of your living room and head to the paint store... ask to see swatches of light colored paint and go from there... depending on the size of your room you might want to use an off-white or other color.

i might stay faraway from the mild blue. evaluate a complemetary shade to the brown and beige. With all those impartial colorations, it seems such as you will possibly might desire to bypass dark. My strategies are lifeless night blue or a darker purple. (no longer deep lipstick purple) A purple with some black in it.
