I always do, unless I genuinely can't decide.

I'm an atheist, but I'm not sure how that matters.

Unless I am asking specific information ("How To...", "How Do I..."), etc., I will send my questions to vote. I figure it's the only fair way to decide.

The problem with that is that people all over Y!A (not just R&S) are ASTOUNDINGLY lazy, and instead of choosing the true Best Answer, they vote for the first answer, and move on. I've sent complex questions to vote that earned a Best Answer for someone that was simply "Yes" or "No".

They say Americans aren't lazy? I beg to differ. If you sent this question to vote, I'd bet $50 that Sulamita would win Best Answer, and the further down the answer list you go, the fewer votes would exist. It's pathetic.

Since you asked, I'm an atheist.

I used to choose best answers all the time, but lately I've been getting such heartfelt, excellent answers to my questions that it's just been impossible to choose. The last dozen questions I've had to put to vote.

I don't like doing that, but there are times I have no choice. Especially when asking for past experiences and personal opinions. How does one decide which is best when there is no correct answer to choose from?

I read and re-read every answer I receive, and sometimes I have my kids decide, but even they have said how difficult it's been lately.

I am Pagan. I always pick a best answer for my questions. Not for the points but obviously so everyone else gets the best answer when they are looking through the "discover" group.

I am a Christian I have picked best answers to all my questions. I also vote on the ones people pass off.

Non denominational but spiritual and believe in a higher power (I don't see the relevance). I've always picked my own "best answer" the one that helped me the most. What's the point in asking questions otherwise? I don't ask alot of questions though.

I'm an atheist, and I've put a question to the vote exactly once. I've had questions actually go to voting way more than once, though. Every time I get suspended, all my open questions end up in voting and there's nothing I can do about those.

I am an eclectic Pagan/Wiccan. Yes, I pick best answer. I feel that people have the right to know I gave a da*n about their answers.

I do about 95% of the time. If I have more than one answer I wish to give best answer to, then I will put it up to a vote.

Taoist Atheist, I always pick best answers. I never leave it up to the voting folks.

Atheist, and yes I do.

Once I allowed it to go to a vote as the question was aimed specifically at Americans.
