If we consider ourselves Christians, Jesus only left us with two suggestions for dealing with Atheists.
First He ask us not to judge them.
Secondly He ask us to love our neighbor.
Atheists are our neighbors.
End of discussion.
Love and blessings Don

There are as many different atheists as there are believers. One can be an atheist without being fixated on death or war. Basically, it is what one believes about where everything came from. There really is only a couple of choices.....either something can come from nothing or something always was. Both seem to offend logic but the latter seems a little easier to deal with. And if something always was, there is no logical reason to confine that "something" to a deity. We could just as well say the entire universe always was and everything we have witnessed is just its changing form and the mechanics of that are becoming better understood every day. A more perplexing question would be "Why does the great majority of the Earth's population believe in a God of love, justice, and mercy yet they spend their time killing and mistreating as many of their brethren as they possible can?"

I am not an aethiest, but I am married to one, and my closest friend is one. An aethiest is a NON BELIEVER meaning they don't believe we were created by a spiritual being outside of this planet. Whether they believe in the big bang or the Darwin theory, I'm not sure, but they don't wish death upon themselves or anyone else, they don't live in some mass world of their own sorry darkness, they aren't evil. They are just people who have every right to question or deny that some magical deity from beyond gave us life and choice, only to destroy us in the end if we make the wrong one. People have killed in the name of God for centuries, I have never once heard someone say "Let's go to war in the name of aethiesm"If I recall correctly, the christians were responsible for the witch burnings which burned and drowned many innocent people and animals with God being their reason. I've studied the Bible, and other ancient religions, and all I can say is it does not say in the BIBLE to slay any of Gods creations, it says not to judge, HENCE, it's not your job to decide what aethiests want out of life, nor is it your job to say that they like death, read up on the stuff before you come on here questioning peoples beliefs.

Wow... atheists love death because the Bible says so? The Bible says a lot of things, like that eating shellfish in an abomination.
Atheists are atheists for the following reasons, as far as I can tell:
1. They don't feel religion needs to be a part of their life.
2. They don't feel that there's any reason to believe in deities.
3. They don't think that supernatural beings are real.
You get the point.

Forgive my candour; your question is borne from the thought processes of a theist imbecile. Since when has a love affair with death ever concerned an atheist.
Do you know what an atheist "is"?
An ATHEIST (of which I proudly attest to being),does not believe in any supernatural gods; an atheist denies or disbelieves the existence of a supreme being or beings. PERIOD
A THEIST believes in a supernatural intelligence who, in addition to his main work of creating the universe in the first place, is still around to oversee and influence the subsequent fate of his initial creation. In many theistic belief systems, the deity is intimately involves in human affairs. He answers prayers; forgives or punishes sins; intervenes in the world by performing the occassional miracle; frets about good and bad deeds, and knows when we do them (or even think of doing them).
A DEIST, too, believes in a supernatural intelligence, but one whose activities were confined to setting up the laws which govern the universe in the first place. The deist God never intervenes thereafter, and certainly has no specific interest in human affairs.
A PANTHEIST does not believe in a supernatural God at all, but uses the word ‘God’ as a non-supernatural synonym for Nature, or for the universe, or for the laws, which govern its workings.
Deists differ from theists in that their God does not answer prayers, is not interested in sins or confessions, does not read our thoughts and does not intervene with whimsical miracles.
Deists differ from pantheists in that the deist God is some kind of cosmic intelligence, rather than the pantheist’s metamorphic or poetic synonym for the laws of the universe.
In short, Pantheism is sexed-up Atheism. Deism is watered down theism.
Now, do you wish to rephrase your question?

Why ask for a logical answer and base your question on your FAITH, not logic? It is very convenient to back up a faith based question with Bible "logic". You will never accept an atheist's response no matter how much their logic trumps your faith. Death is the inevitable conclusion to a human's life. Peace can be achieved with or without God. But you don't believe that so, as I said, an atheist response is unacceptable to you.

We don't like death. Why would you think that?
Peace is obviously something that can happen, and therefore not something that can be believed in or not believed in. Who told you that liking death and disbelief in peace were characteristics of atheists?
Maybe you should look up "atheist" in a dictionary.
It seems that having strong and uncritical beliefs in gods tends to make people more death-oriented and less peace-oriented.

Muslims and Christians have killed more people than the Nazis ever did. In the 1600's over 150,000 people were killed by the church because they were thought to be a witch ! Most of the people were women, and they were burned alive. Your question makes ZERO sense. Can't you give the nice yahoo people a break ? They're wasting countless hours removing non-sense such as yours.

Yes, historically atheists have been responsible for all the evils of the world. Christians have been blameless since Jesus walked the Earth.
C'mon dude, are you serious? How can you accuse atheists of liking death?
*Edit* -- Oh, the Bible says we love death. Well, that proves it, doesn't it? Of course, Christians hate death. I'm sure they felt absolutely terrible about all the people they killed during the Crusades, the Inquisition, the Salem witch trials, genocide committed in the name of "Manifest Destiny..."

Why are you making false assumptions about the belief of Atheists?
Disbelief in God has nothing to do with liking death nor in disliking peace. In fact, most of the agnostics and atheists that I know have higher moral standards than most of the Christians I know.
