The Bible tells us that the Genesis creation was "good." There was no sin and therefore no suffering or death. Why then did God give Adam and Eve the ability to sin, knowing full well that they would sin and bring death and pain to the human race? Some believe that if Adam had been created without the ability to chose, then he would have been a "robot." A father cannot make his children love him. They choose to love him because they have a free will. Others point out that humanity would never have seen the depth of the love of God, as displayed in the cross, unless Adam had sinned, and that fact could be one reason why God allowed sin to enter the world.

He didnt know that we were going to destroy it. He made us, hoping for us to be His children, His companions living in this beautiful work together but then when Satan made Adam and Eve fall, we failed to see things from God's point of view. We didnt hold in high esteem the same things that God did. He had also granted us free will - therefore, he cannot interfere with the way we do things here on Earth. We have to learn from our mistakes.
To simplify the answer, Satan and the Fall were not part of the original plan, so God did not give us an awesome planet already knowing that we were going to destroy it.

Don't worry, God will give us again the opportunity to live for ever in a beautiful and peaceful world wide garden, and when that day is here, if anyone wants to try and do the same thing Adam and Eve did, God will wipe them off an instant and NO ONE will be able to say God was unjust for taking such a drastic action against that person or angel -

A friend once told me that, Man's chief gripe with the Christian God is, at its core, that He allows everyone to make their own choices while generally not curtailing the consequences of those choices.
In other words, He lets things happen naturally too much. The Christian stance on free will is that it's absolutely independent. God beckons us to follow Him, but each step is something we have to approve.
And, I don't mean that people would prefer determinism, but rather, that people would prefer God took a more active role in cleaning up mankind's messes. Curtailing the natural consequences of the harmful free will choices we all make.
If God enacted determinism on mankind, we'd all be Christians, and we'd all go to Heaven, since Matt 18:10-14 says that God wants no one to die spiritually.
To me the issue is about history, the crimes of man against God (God says to not do something so we instinctively do it anyway), necessity of sacrifice for the forgiveness of those crimes, and God sending His Son Jesus to be the last sacrifice for all people who accept Him. This is not about fear, it's about God's infinite Love in doing something we couldn't do for own benefit even though He didn't have to but chose to because He Loves everyone.

You are assuming that God is really involved in more than what was created. Might it be possible that the Universe was created and then what will be will be? The history of Earth is rife with horrible natural disasters, upheavals, and species eradication's. I agree that the Earth is beautiful but it is possible that God set things up this way as a test?

I would assume God, or Goddess would have created the planet, but it is up to us to learn from our mistakes.
If we destroy ourselves, it's our fault and our fault only, if we learn from our mistakes, then we have gained wisdom and knowledge.
Remember, there's no concrete evidence that there is a God or Goddess, so it may just be a complete accident that we are even here.
Note: Never change your belief's due to someone else's opinion, I'm not religious, I don't follow others religions, I keep an open mind about things.

Free will. God did not create a perfect world. He created our world in a state of journey so that we could be his co-creators in perfecting our world. Evil and suffering exist with good. The destructive forces of nature are still with us. They are with us so that we can share our blessings and sufferings with each other. Much of the evil and suffering in this world is due to our failure to heed his command to love one another.

Why the pessimism? We're not destroying the planet and there's no reason to suppose that it will be destroyed.
