I have two guineapigs. And My dad just got me a donut while i had them out. He put the donut on my bed(on a pplate) and he did not relize one of my two guineapigs where up there. I did not think anything of it, Cause i was taling to my dad, we turned around and saw my baby eating the chocolate donut. I am very careful with my guineapigs and i love them to death. She is 1 almost 2 years old. I feel so bad cause i am usually so careful withthem, and watch them evey sec. What should I do?? Should I bring her to the vet. I know the otherone did not get into it because my dad was holding her. Help!!!!! How bad is chocolate for guineapigs??

Well, I know chocolate is poisonous to dogs, but I don't know about guinea pigs. You should call you vet and ask about it and if he says it's bad for them then you should take her in immediately. And if you're guinea pig looks sick you should take her to the vet.

I doubt that there was enough chocolate in a donut to hurt him. They shouldn't have chocolate, but they have to eat a certain amount to be toxic--donuts aren't going to contain a lot of pure chocolate--it's mostly sugar and other additives. Since they can't vomit, there's not going to be much the vet will do. If he acts sick or has diarrhea, they may give him some fluids. Doesn't hurt to call your local vet, but this is the advice we'd give if you called us.

I know chocolate is on the list of things they cannot eat. I would bring him to the vet, just to be safe.

How much of it did she eat?? I think you'll be okay. I would take to the vet if she stops eating or pooping. My piggies have nicked my food aswell - including yoghurts and some sweets! They are very greedy, but that makes them all the more loveable. :)

Well i know if a dog has chocolate they can get really sick or die....i suggest taking it to a vet so you wont have to worry about it

Chocolate isn't good for guinea pigs to eat. I would definately bring her to the vet!

it's cool. I have a g.pig that likes snickers candy bars. they can eat whatever you eat . They don't like really sweet or really sour. be happy,don't worry!
