oh yea he loves dog food. He's got short legs and he purrs a lot. We think it's a stray cat with no home coz he's got balls and stuff.

Think he's just your regular domestic short hair, but he is beautiful!

He's a beautiful domestic shorthair. His color is called "blue". If you go to http://www.cfainc.org you can compare him to the cat breeds.

Keep in mind that the only thing that proves a cat is a certain breed is registration papers. Some cats just look too much alike. Some may be mixed breed, but yours looks so sweet.

He may be eating dog food, but it is not good for him. Get him some dry cat food before he gets sick from the dog food. Just about any dry food is okay and it is a whole lot easier to feed and cheaper. Most cats don't care as long as it is something to eat.

If you want to keep him, take him to the vet. Bring along a sample of his feces so he can be tested for worms. Cats with worms eat a lot and can become very ill from worms.

He is in all likelihood a dark gray/blue domestic shorthair (aka mixed breed) He does look quite a bit like a blue british shorthair though.

Also please don't feed him dog food. Dog food lacks some of the nutrients that cats need and can cause all sorts of health problem. A little won't hurt him but it should not be is main food source

The cat looks like a Russian Blue.

I would say it is a British Short Hair, these cats are very stocky and can be musclar as you have described and I would agree with one of the earlier respondents it could be someone's breeding tom. I would take him to the vet and see if he is microchipped as he is too nice looking a cat for someone to not be missing him, also you should probably ring your local animal shelter or RSPCA. My local vet always tells me when I find strays that it is best to hand them over to the local animal shelter as this is one of the first places their owner will look for them, you could always hand him over on the the previso that if no comes forward to claim him then you want him. Good Luck and good on you for looking after a stray.

He's beautiful, but just a domestic shorthair. I would recommend getting him fixed (pretty inexpensive if you go to the humane society) so you don't contribute to the overpopulation problem. And feed him cat food, not dog food (dog food is very bad for cats, due to the lack of taurine in the food, cats need it to survive).

He looks like a domestic shorthair (regular mixed breed cat). He will make a great pet for you, but you need to get him checked by a vet and neutered.
Also DO NOT FEED HIM DOG FOOD. Dog food does not have complete nutrition for cats. Cats are creatures of habit, so if you get him used to dog food it may be hard to get him to eat cat food. If you feed him dog food regularly, he will not get a nutrient called taurine, which is very important for cats. He will get very sick without it, so please buy him some cat food today.

Hmmm, as a previous cat breeder i would say he looks alot like a Russion Blue. But he has green eyes. He looks very well kept so i dought he would be stray. Could there be a chance that a breeder has lost her main stud? in your neibourhood. But it most probably is just a lost domestic. Still you question everything!

Possibly a Chartreux or a Russian Blue...
maybe just a domestic shorthair, but because he is so muscular, I'd say most likely Chartreux or a Russian Blue.

1. Please have him neutered.

2. Please feed him CAT food, NOT dog food. Cats need species-appropriate food.

there is a very slight chance that a purebred cat wandered as a stray into someone's yard. he's probably just a regular, domestic cat. but i love gray cats and he is really pretty! u should keep him:))
