The foremost difference is this: God sent His son Jesus Christ to die for us. In no other so called religion does their god sacrifice anything for His followers; it’s is usually the other way round.

I know a little more about other so called religions. Another dissimilarity of them when compared with Christianity this: others claim to be saved you have to do good works, and if your good deeds are (numerically) more than your bad deeds then you get to go to heaven (or whatever they call it). In their so called religions, God does not play an active part, and while many may disagree, let me explain.

As a follower of Jesus Christ, a Christian's is saved without having done a single good and/or bad deed, because of the grace of God. All a Christian is called to is a faith in God, who demonstrates His love for us thus: For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son that whosoever may believeth in Him may not perish but have everlasting life.

If we are not called to do any good things, Christians should be the most wicked folks around since for them salvation is based on faith, not on good/bad works, right? However, God’s word tells us that there are such things as sin, bad works, and a heart that is not right before God, and that God abhors sin. Moreover, sin prevents a person from having a relationship with God, something that every human is meant to have, as our ultimate purpose in this life. The Bible also adds that irrespective of what we do, we cannot be sinless or perfect, since all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God and there is not one who is righteous, no, not even one!

So both other religions and Christianity are in the same dilemma, if there is a God who is going to judge us, we are going to be in big trouble. Now, for other religions, the question is this: show me a court in this world that punishes a guilty based on the ratio of good or bad things that the person under trial may have done. Every court punishes the culpable for every crime that is proved, and it does not go by the fallacious logic of the outcome to be based on the comparison of good /bad deeds, the higher number of which will result in a decision in favour or against.

In the case of Christianity, we are under trial too. Yet, someone has already paid the price in full: Jesus Christ, the perfect sinless Lamb of God. So if we truly believe in Jesus Christ, we can be assured that the work that He starts in us (the little faith we have) will be taken to full conclusion by Him, for He is able. The only other exception is for the Jews since the Abrahamic/Mosaic covenant is still applicable to them.

The best part of Christianity is this: our God is a God who understands, who took human form and faced all the trials and temptations we do, yet unlike us, He was without sin. Consequently, whenever a person first believes and becomes a Christian, God not only forgives the sin of the repentant believer but also gives the most wonderful gift of all in addition to the greatest gift of Jesus Christ that is there for all: He comes and lives with His follower(s) as fills the faithful with His Holy Spirit, an event that transforms the lives of every true Christian; sometimes immediately, more often over a period of time. Thus while a true Christian may sin (occasionally :-) it becomes harder and harder to go astray and to grieve God’s Holy Spirit dwelling within, and the very vices spiritual or worldly that once seemed so hard to get rid off, fall away and disappear by the grace of God. This makes Christians some of the best folks around, not the worst; and history is full of examples.

What I have written is true, and I am a witness for my Lord Jesus Christ. So much and more does God do for everyone who loves Him, and it is an experience to be had to understand His great and unfathomable love He has for each one of us. I hope that God may use me to bring this great love and this light in the life of those who are in the darkness of false religions and lost... without Jesus.

May God’s will be done, the good news of His salvation be preached and may each of us come to a true faith in Jesus Christ, for that is the need of the hour.

God bless,
Andrew

The good news of Jesus Christ is that He, being the One and Only sinless Son of God, died for our sins, so that when we believe in Him, repent from our sin, and accept Him as our Savior, we are forgiven and have the hope of Eternal Life.

What makes Christianity different is that it is all about RELATIONSHIP with Father God, Jesus Christ, His Son and the Holy Spirit.

In the religions of the world, there is no living god. Christianity is based on the truth of a Living God, because Jesus arose from the dead and ascended to God on high. Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, today and forever. Hallelujah!

The Good News is God the Father (Creator of everything) looked upon us with pity in our fallen sinful state of existence. Instead of allowing us to die not only a physical death but also a spiritual one, He loved us so much that He became man, lived a perfect life, and died in our place ... the just for the unjust ... This was necessary to satisfy the penalty for sin which is eternal separation from God. If we accept this Good News then we will be spared from what we rightfully deserve ... separation forever from our beloved creator.

Christianity is different from any other religion because Christ was placed to death on the cross but came back from the dead to live again. He ascended into heaven and is with the Father as I speak.

There isn't any doubt this happened. Do some research on history of that era, outside of the Bible, and you'll find such a person existed and what we know of His life was well documented and found to agree with the Biblical account. This story could not have been fabricated. There is too much proof to state otherwise.

There is only one, giant and all-consuming energy in space. This is what we call God. And, if we gave it a name, and if we believe in it, why do we separate it? Did Jesus teach better or worse than Budah or Mohammad? And what would be the criteria of good and bad in that case?
The good news of Jesus: his example. His life path shows us what could we be like; His teaching shows how to try to be better AND live in a human society. More and more, I find myself being not a Christian by the church, but by the teaching. At the same time, I discover that the main premises of christianity are not very different from other religions. I'm not sure should they be? We can now let ourselves believe that there is one greater wisdom, and that all humans need to learn that wisdom. That is why they (we) need teachers of great love and understanding, and there is one in the world, every once in a while. On Earth, we have so much various languages, numberless amounts of words - this is why we've called those teachers different names, and this is also why we gave our idea of God - the perfect love - all those different names. So, what SHOULD be the good news? What SHOULD make Christianity different?

The good news is Jesus Christ died on the cross to forgive us our sins. He rose from the grave & went to Heaven to prepare a place for US. All we have to do is ask His forgiveness & we'll have everlasting life. The BEST news is that He is coming again! Coming to take us out of this old world of sin & the horrors that are brought upon the world because of nothing but sin & people following Satan. Religion to me is a formality, a formality of whatever one chooses to believe in. Christianity is the belief in Jesus Christ & His teachings. I've been reading over so many of these answers. They truly are just plain inspiring! People from all parts of the country w/the same convictions, the same beliefs. It just so great to know that we'll all be "together forever in Heaven". One day we'll all meet, what a WONDERFUL day that w/be. Just reminds me of an old song we sang in church, "when we all get to Heaven, what a day of rejoycing that will be, when we all see Jesus, we'll sing & shout the victory".

If morals are the reason, then the many Muslims I watched steal pencils in my classrooms in the Middle East certainly didn't show it. Muslim extremist who kill people certainly don't show it. There are bad people, too, who say they are Christians or come from so-called "Christian" countries. No, the measure of truth is not morals but whether something is true. Personally, I saw that much of the Koran came out of the Bible with some distortions. I chose to believe the many prophets, priests, kings, etc. who wrote the Bible and not the one person, Mohammed, who wrote the Koran. In addition, only when I made Jesus Christ my Savior and Lord did I find the peace and joy I was seeking.

The good news of Jesus Christ is the gospel, which defines itself as God's power to save:

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. - Romans 1:16.

Christianity is different than other religions in that it has a unique (One Way) plan of salvation:

"Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.

This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.

Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." - Acts 4:10-12.

Unlike all other religions, Christianity alone possesses a founder who transcends death and who promises that His followers will do the same. All other (false) religions were founded by men and prophets whose end was the grave. As Christians, we take comfort in the fact that our God became man, died for our sins, was killed, and was resurrected the third day. The grave could not hold Him. He lives and He sits today at the right hand of God the Father in heaven. The living church has a living Head.

The good news is that we can live with our Father in Heaven for eternity and that we can be forgiven for our sins, if we repent fir them and try to do out best.
I do not know enough about all other religions to speak for what makes Christianity different, but I would say that we are redeemed of our sins through Jesus Christ. That is probably the biggest difference.
