My son is 2 1/2 and has been going potty for the last two weeks and doing very good. He has an accident once a day which is good only cause he just got circumsized 2 months ago, which the doctor says that he is doing good knowing that he recently had the surgery done. I want to start planning on him to wear underwear at night and at nap time. I am not going to start it right away because I want him to be completely potty trained before I start him for naps and bed time but I figure that I would ask ahead of time so I can put some thoughts into how I am going to start it. I had thought of buying one those mattress pad covers to put on his bed. I am having him go potty before he goes to bed and I stop giving him something to drink 2 hours before bed. Just wanted to see if there is anyother suggestions that I may need.

Putting the mattress covers on is always good and also no drinks 2-3 hours before they go to bed. What I did was wake up my child at the same time at least 2 times a night, so he could get use to waking up and going to the restroom. That way when he got on that schedule of waking up at those times during the night, he automatically started waking up at those times and went on his owe after about 2 weeks.

I am the youngest of 4 kids and my mom had all of us completely potty-trained by 2 1/2...night time too. She would take us to the bathroom before bed and then again just before she went to bed. We RARELY had accidents before we were done training.

I accept as true with most of the others. in the journey that your son don't have a medical condition, then attempt placing your alarm for 12, a million or 2 am, and wake him for the potty. i understand it truly is confusing once you're useless drained, notwithstanding it beats washing bedding familiar!! also if the youngster moist's the mattress, then wakes up immediately after, then the youngster knows what has happened. consequently you may attempt making the youngster sleep contained in the moist mattress for something of the evening, sounds cruel!! purely use this technique in case you imagine the mattress wetting is by using laziness, or for interest.

I would wake him up twice during the night and take him to the bathroom. I know it stinks because you have to wake up and then get him up. but it may work.
