Descriptive words, huh? How about "breath-taking," "exciting," "terrifying," freeing," "beautiful," "euphoric," etc. Did I help at all? Just think of how you would feel on a plane ride. Imagine the emotions that you would feel and then write them down. It's really not so hard.

Flying the 1st time
I was taxing and when I lined up on the runway and went full throttle, at the point airspeed was good enough I pulled back on the yoke and it was a sense of aw that went through me.
Landing on the other hand (still learning) I almost crapped my pants.

Super
Breathtaking

Hours of boredom puncuated by moments of sheer terror.
If you are looking for a definition of an airplane how about this.

depends on what you are flying on. passenger plane stuck in a way too small chair? warbird? if you can get over being cramped and not being able to move on a passenger plane, no matter what you are flying in it is undescribable if you are a fan of aviation. flight is awsome. it can make you a little seasick, but it is awesome.

Exciting, frustrating, common place, rough, smooth, long, short, and there's a variety of expletives I wouldn't use in front of my mother that could preceed any of those.
And a particularly rough landing is called a "crusher."
700'/min's at landing is fair game, right?
