so theres this guy that has been flirting with me for a couple weeks- i thought maybe he liked me, and i really like him. so then one of my friends asks him if he likes me (i didnt have anything to do with it) and he told her yeah, he kind of did. but then the day after, he was completely ignoring me. he wasnt responding to anything, and he wasnt really trying to talk to me. apparently he was looking at me when i wasnt watching but i'm not sure thats just what one of my friends told me.
whats going on? he said he liked me, but now hes acting like he doesnt...i'm confused :( and sad

Well, sounds like he is shy and doesn't really know how to talk to you, especially since ur friend has approached him about it he knows u know now. I can't say for certain but it sounds like u are prob in high school, and it can be a hard time for a guy to approach a situation like this.
I wouldn't be sad, i am sure he still likes u, but doesn't know what to do. If u want to put a lil jump start into things and get the ball rolling, go and talk to him. Maybe sit at lunch together and just talk a little.
Once u two can feel comfortable around each other and get past the shyness and uncertainty, u probably will hang out everyday and be inseperable.
GOOD LUCK!

Guys who are in school are very uncertain and shy about their feelings. Also, I remember at a certain age whenever you said you liked somebody, or you started going out with someone, all these vultures would come around and start telling you you shouldn't like that person and that they were this and they were that!
He may have been pressured by his friends into not liking you. Sorry, I wish I had a better answer. Maybe you can just ask him, then at least you'll know.

He's a guy. We get like that sometimes.
Just go for him. Ask him to join you going out with some friends. Talk to him. In fact, go get 'im!
And if he reacts negatively to that then it's time to move on to the next one.
Life's short. Eat dessert first.

How old are you. If you're young, he probably realized the information would get back to you and is afraid. If you're older then... it's probably the same. You just need to make sure your friend is telling you the truth about what he said. If he said it, it's true.

i am a girl, but ill give it a shot. Guys want attention like girls. They play hard to get cuz they think that it makes you like them more. Just go with it, and if it goes to far, ask him if theres something wrong.

Your friend probably embarrassed him... and depending on the age of you two, I would say that yes he likes you.. Just give him some time..... Hey you never know.

He's frightened because he likes you and now he knows you like him.
Just ask him straight out to go out with you, but in a nice way not sarkey!

In your case it was without your knowledge, but it's always better to talk to the guy yourself, not get someone else to do it.
Guys: wouldn't a girl who knows her own mind be a turn on?

At this stage try ignoring him, casually, for a while. If he likes you he will make a move that is obvious... your attention makes him feel empowered... and then you will know.
