I am 18 years old and currently in pre-nursing and I thought it was something I wanted to do MY ENTIRE LIFE! My mom is a nurse and I always was interested in it, but when I started I found out that it's really not something I enjoy. I want to go into Air Forice to find out what I truely want to do.

My first question is that I am a female and what do they expect out of you in PT? Like how many push-ups and sit-ups do you have to do?

My second question is what is the best job to do in the Air Force?

Thank you!

The pt is not all that hard. All you have to do is be consistant. You can improve all of your scores from being consistant. Secondly as far as the BEST job in the air force, it depends on your interests and asvab score. If there is a certain job that really want but you cant qualify for it, then you won't get it. Some technical jobs have higher aptitude requirements than other non-tech related jobs (weather and linguist compared to admin or legal). If you want to go to college, an actual campus not online, the air force is great.... if you have a job that has regular hours and not shifts. most admin and medical jobs will work regular hours.

The air force has recently changed it's fitness standards for both men and women. You must do 50 sit-ups in one minute, 28 push ups in one minute and run 1.5 miles in 13:56 or less.

If you are not really sure what you would like to be then call a recruiter and take the ASVAB. It is a test that evaluates your skills and knowledge. The recruiter will give you a list of jobs you are qualified to do. Before you take the test go to the library and get a ASVAB study guide.
Good luck!

PT can be physically demanding. You need to have a very high standard of fitness. If you contact recruiting they will be able to give you an up to date list of the physical requirements. You need to keep this updated throughout your AF career and will be tested annually that you still meet this physical requirement. The best job really depends on what your interests are. I have always thought that flight crew (air hostesses) have the best job in the AF. You do live in a communal atmosphere but you don't sleep, dress or shower with men, only other women.

You have to do 50 situps in 2 minutes and 22 pushups in 2 minutes. You have to run, run, run. You are expected to do what they tell you to do. You have to get up extremely early and go to bed when they tell you. You have to shower with everyone.

You can be a nurse in the AF.
