IMHO... neither. Personally, I would separate it into the two root words it comes from as in: I have a number of spoons full of sugar. However that IS just my opinion, the accepted plural is: spoonfuls.

thats a good question, it cant be spoonfulls as it refers to only 1 spoon but the reference to it being full is plural. the correct answer is spoons full as in the medicine called for 4 spoons full twice daily.
