It sounds like that first incident of being sick has taken on more power than your years of experience performing without issues.

I would first reflect that this happened once, and may even have had a relationship to something physical that was going on related to your stomach, rather than the solo. I'd then spend remembering the many times historically that you weren't sick. The next thing is to visualise yourself successfully performing, taking your bows, and then happily grabbing your favourite junk food or candy and "walking off into the sunset" enjoying it. Make yourself repeat the visualisation multiple times. If the visualisation goes south on you, interrupt it by saying aloud, that's a lie, that's not what happens to me, and start from the beginning.

I've used this approach to deal with challenges that I had when I changed careers and ended up having to speak to loud groups of people. It took applying the above technique for several weeks before I "got over" my constant anticipation of something going wrong.

If the problem becomes worse, it may be worth seeking professional help from a therapist as there may be other factors at work.

Good Luck!

I love public speaking, it's a bit like perform. I to get really nervous, to the point of making myself ill.
I do lots of different things to help make it so I'm not so freaked out. One thing I do is pretend that I'm the only one in the room while I'm speaking. It seems a little silly, but it helps be a lot.
Also before I get up I give myself a prep talk. Basic I tell myself that I know this stuff, I've practiced, I'm good at what I'm doing, and I like doing it.
Another thing I do before hand are some calming exercises if I'm really nervous. My favorite one is sitting quietly and tuning everyone out. Then I pretend that I walking alone in a forest and just complete lose myself to image forcing myself to see the leaves on the tree and feel the soft breeze instead of what really going on. It leaves me feeling very calm and clear headed. I hope this helps! It would be a shame to have to give up something you love over something silly like nerves.

Before you leave your house to perform, write down all your worries and get them out. Once you are there, do some deep breathing exercises in a quiet place.
You're not going to throw up... you're going to do great. Believe it.

Just envision that the other performers and the spectators are only wearing their underwear.I know it sounds silly but acting coaches have been prescribing it for years.

It's a little pill called xanax. It will chill you out a bit, and you'll be fine for performing. See the dr. or, probably better, see the psychiatrist.
