8oz=1 cup
10.5 oz= 1-1/4 cup +.5 oz.
So i'd say a tiny bit over 1-1/4 cup.

That looks much like my recipe for chocolate chip cookies. As such, I'm going to guess that the recipe uses US measurements. 1 cup butter = 225g 2/3 cup dark muscovado sugar = 145g 1/2 cup granulated sugar = 100g 2 eggs (size will depend on where you live.. standard egg size in a US recipes is a US large egg) 1 tsp vanilla (differences in tsps are SO miniscule they don't affect the recipe) 1 1/2 cup plain/all-purpose flour = 195g 1/4 tsp baking soda/bicarbonate of soda 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips (optional) = 175g US large eggs weigh between 56.7g and 63.8g (in the shell). In the UK (where I am), this is most similar to the UK medium eggs, which must weigh between 53g and 63g. Another thing to note is that the flour in the US has a higher amount of gluten than European flours, so I usually add just a lil bit extra flour when I am baking. For this recipe, I'd perhaps add an additional 10-20g of plain flour (for the total to be 105-115g of plain flour). Granulated sugar in the US (which is the standard sugar to use when baking) is a bit finer than the granulated sugar in the UK (which is the standard sugar for adding to tea/coffee, but not for baking). Instead, I use caster sugar, as the smaller crystals dissolve more easily. If the original recipe is NOT from the US, then these measurements may be off. A US cup holds roughly 236ml, whereas a UK "cup" holds 285ml and a "metric cup" holds 250ml. Although "cups" are rarely used in the UK nowadays in recipes/measurement, it shows that there can be a big difference between US and another country's measurements. Hope it turns out well for you!
