Actually that is not entirely true. Simple staph infections are generally taken care of with antibiotics but there are serious ones - MRSA - that can be deforming and life-threatening.

It's really rare to get an infection from a tattoo. Unless you go to an unclean artist, or don't take care of the tattoo, you should be fine.
Here are some stats: Not a single person has been reported to get HIV/AIDS from a tattoo EVER. And you're more likely to get hepatitis from the dentist than a tattoo.
And a REALLY fun one: Only 6% of people that get a tattoo wish to have it removed. Neat huh?

you can get a staff infection only after you have been tattooed and you do not care for the tattoo or yourself properly. If you think that you have or some one that you know has an infection get to a Dr. It could be a staff infection and left UN treated this can kill you.

If you don't take care of your tattoo, it can become infected. If you don't treat the infection ASAP, it can enter your bloodstream, which can be fatal.
If you take care of your tattoo from the beginning, there is a very small potential of getting an infection at all.

A dirty needle can spread diseases if used on more than 1 person-(I haven't heard of "infections of the whole body").

Yes darlin - I have! I have a little bit big name wrist bracelet, a tattoo on my higher arm, and a small one on my proper shoulder. Each are very private to me, and I is not going to remorse having them while I am older for the reason that all of them imply anything particular to me ! :o) xxx

Well, sure, you can get lots of diseases, like hepatitis. If the tattoo artists take the necessary precautions, you will not catch anything.
