I hope you're hoaxing. Boys 2 - 8 should mostly be asleep 7pm to 2am.

I am not sure how far six and eight year olds should be up past 7pm. What's their bedtime? 8? 9?

I hate them, but kids love the video games. If there is none and there are no computers, then do active stuff.

We used to do this thing with blocks and plastic little GI Joes, Cowboys and Indians. We'd divide the blocks by however many there were; doesn't matter what shapes or sizes. Then we'd build a fort out of them and then place the little figures on top all around. From about ten feet away, we would take turns pitching pennies to knock down ('killing') the other's figures. The fort with the last men standing won all the pennies.

If that's too square for you, then teach the kids to dance. Teach them a foxtrot or some other ballroom dance like a waltz or tango or rumba (if you know how). Tell them that if they can get it, then you will show them how to do some of your stellar MTV-like moves.

Of course, you could always read together. My favorite babysitter read the whole 'Soup' (Like Soup for President) series with me. Where the Red Fern Grows too.

If you have arts and crafts stuff, you could always have them make cards for their parents. Whatever the next holiday or birthday is. That way the kids are busy and the parents will think you're the best.

Go for a walk. Playing guessing games and point out interesting objects on your walk.
Read! Bring a new used book every time you babysit. Make it a habit to have something new for the kids to enjoy each time.
Board games are a fun easy way to amuse kids. Don't just give them the board games to use, you play too!
Bake cookies. If you have experience and permission from parents, bake some simple cookies with the kids.
Homework check. Don't forget to ask parents or the kids if they have homework due. If they do, help them out.
Sing! Make up wacky songs and new words to favorites if you don't know the words

Well, I've been babysitting for about 3 years now, and my sister just started. I highly recommend eating dinner, then board games, then fruit snacks, then a movie (rated PG or G), and then a small book to fall asleep to.

Good Luck,
Rachaelle

P.S. don't EVER play hide and go Seek, because they could lock doors, trip fall, etc. and you would not want to have the history of losing kids, and maybe even hurting/killing them. Oh, and don't let them use scissors, if you want to do crafts, stick to YOU cutting, tape, and crayons. No markers, paint or glue... What a MESS!!!

Find little arts and crafts that are easy to do. Making cards with for an upcoming holiday, decorating them with markers, glitter, stickers etc. There are also pre-made cookies that come with a kit to decorate them with icing and sprinkles. You can read books or plan a scavenger hunt for items around the house. And of course there are always board games and movies.

Find a warm, comfy Walt Disney movie to watch with some popcorn. Then a snack and off to bed they go. Then remember, YOU and your friend's job is to babysit, not raid the frig or do talkathon with other friends on the phone. Also, no porn videos.

Well I don't really know what things those boys like in particular.. but you could try and find out what type of movies they like and bring (or rent) those. The good thing about movies are that since you babysit them so late they might fall asleep while watching it.
I hope this helps. :)

well they should probably be asleep by 10 or 11 if your babysitting that long which means you'll only have to do stuff with them for a couple of hours you could watch a mpvie or play board games or for the younger one you guys could play a game where you pretend to be pirates or something like that

I would agree that the boys should have a reasonable bed time and really should be put to bed before 8pm. While they are up, maybe you could play relaxing, calming stuff like lego etc.

Grab some pencils and draw with them.
Get some magazines and make collages with them.
Lego.
Get them to show you their favourite toys, play with them with those toys.
IF you're desperate put on a video, but that just makes the time pass even more slowly for you.... the best thing you can do is just engage in playing with them.
