Newspapers generally have them. Try calling local vets, many people leave free kitten ads with them. Craigslist is always a good website to look for local free pets. I found my kitten through the newspaper, though.

Sometimes a website isn't the best. I would check a newspaper. They are around your neighborhood, and alot are free. Also if you go to your local pet store. They usually sell cats for cheap. And no Cats dont come from some cat mill or something. Cats at pet stores are all brought in by customers. So they are home raised. lol I know I know everypet store around my home, and a bunch of other towns, I travel alot. But one of the best is check the newspaper.

You may be lucky to get a kitten at this time of the year although they are born all year round.
Depending on where you live may limit the distance you want to travel.
The larger national charities will have a branch locator on their websites so try RSCPA, SSPCA, & Cats Protection. For local charities check the phone book; sometimes they come under 'Kennels'; I know one of our local charities does. Infact, they take in small animals, cats and dogs for rehoming.
Whatever you decide, please ensure it is a reputable rescue centre.
Good luck

Check your local newspaper in the classified section. However, remember that no kitten is completely free. You have to pay for it's vaccinations, spay/neuter, bedding, toys, food, and flea treatments- so make sure you are ready to take on the expenses of another cat. Also, try www.petfinder.com.

many places to not advertise free kittens because some low lifes will get them and use them for training their dogs to be aggressive.....many times if there is a low cost i the paper, it is because they are trying to screen the people but probably wont actually charge you when you're checked out - check local vets offices too

Just look for your city, and click the pets section. Most of the time there are "free kittens" ads there.
