For you to ask a question like that, you better not go car shopping by yourself or the salesman will end up on a cruise in the Caribbean thanks to you.

I was a new car salesperson for one year about 5 years ago and nobody tipped me. In fact, none of the other salespersons ever were tipped either. It's just not something that is done. The better the deal that you get as a customer means less of a commission the salesperson will get. The dealership ALWAYS gets the same amount no matter what the vehicle sells for, it's called a holdback and comes directly from the car manufacturer.

I got ONE tip in all my years as a salesman. It came when I was selling new vehicles that I could not make much comission on. In fact, 90% of my new car sales were 'mini's' meaning I got $75. I had a customer who had sold the same product line buy a new car from me, and when he found out what my mini was worth, he tipped me $50!

Does your buddy have a signed identify? If no longer the bill of sale in basic terms says he paid someone for use of the automobile...he needs to get the identify and confirm that is a legal identify no longer a salvage in the different case coverage will be no longer obtainable to get...or if gotten will be outrageously overpriced...on the on the spot if the automobile were to assert malfunction and he went to the fellow that offered it to him...there is no longer something your buddy can do..if the identify says salvage and he offered the automobile understanding it turned right into a salvage he's in basic terms out $3200.oh and by technique of how Florida does have a three day go back coverage on autos...if you're no longer satisfied you may go back a automobile (contained in the state of Florida) and walk away. relatives OWNS massive automobile DEALERSHIP!!

No, you do not tip a car salesperson, they are making money on every vehicle they sell and you do not give them additional money.

It's the other way around, they just made a tidy profit from selling you a car, they should be giving you something if they want to maintain the relationship for future purchases...

Never. A car salesman is purely only an acquaintance, and it should stay that way. They get a percentage of the car they sell, so all they should get from you is a "your welcome".
