According to the anti-Semites we Jews control the media, the Governments of the USA, UK, and many other western nations - yet these guys still come on here and print their comments. How can they do this if we Jews are all so great and powerful? Could it be they are simply liars and cowards who make up for their personal inadequacies by being bullies or simply obnoxious pinheads who like to use Jews to scapegoat all their own problems? Amazing I think this latter point of mine is on point. What do you think?

Nobody has a "right" to be heard on "Yahoo Answers." That is just silly - Yahoo, Inc. might be a publically traded company - but legally in is a private entity and it has the right to remove what it finds objectionable. What is going on here is that Yahoo sees that allowing anti-Semitic language and questions on its forums is okay because it aids to their profit margins. I hate when people try to say this has something to do with freedom of speach - it doesn't. Lets face it the anti-Semites in the world have alot of clot and always have.

Zoo - I also hate the word anti-Semite too and I would gladly never say it again (or write it) if I could live in a world where such things that are anti-Semite are never done anymore. I am and have always been a strong advocate of a two state soluation for the Arab-Israeli conflict and for peace.

Edit - Worldluv - would you buy yourself a dictionary or at least look up the definition of anti-Semite at dictionary.com - you always come off sounding foolish talking about things you seem not to really understand (or you really are an anti-Semite just trying to play foolish) - here is the link to the definition of anti-Semite at dictionary.com http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/anti-semite and the wikipedia article on the term here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anti-semite Anti-Semitism is not directed or about Arabs even though they are a semitic people.

And Omar - thinking Zionist control the media is anti-Semitic because it isn't true and it is created based on stereotyping that is derogatary towards Jews.

Nice one.
It really is quite amazing how many people still believe that we Jews control the media etc. Considering that Jews represent something like less than one per cent of the world population..... damn, we must be good! I mean, so few of us, and yet apparently we run the media!!
But yes, more seriously, of course you're right.
The only 'good' thing about anti semites coming into this forum is that
a) we can hopefully expose their beliefs and lies for the absurdities they are
b) they serve as a reminder that as Jews we must sadly be ever vigilant, because there will it seems ALWAYS be those prepared and happy to believe the worst about us. And to believe things about us that are impossible, i.e. we run the media.
Have a star for a great post.
HEY MIMI!
I know that this is still a common belief about Jews and the media, but honestly, it's just not true.
Do you know that Jews make up LESS THAN ONE PER CENT of the world's population? We make up 0.03 per cent, in fact; I think that's correct. Now, as a group, Jews may be very visible for such a small minority - I definitely agree this is true.
And yes, I think Jewish people are vocal: we speak out when we either support or disagree with something! Again, this is true.
But if you look at the UK for example, the British Muslims have FAR more influence on the media there than either the Jews or anyone else!
WORLDLUV
I enjoy most of your answers but sorry, on this one you are off at a tangent! MikeInRi was not talking about people who criticise Israel - that has nothing to do with his post at all.
He is referring to a few people who repeatedly come into this forum and insist that Jews 'control the world media' and other such absurd and spiteful assertions.
And by the way, so what if a few Jewish people are successful? So are MANY non Jews; Rupert Murdoch really does control many newspapers and he is not Jewish. Ted Turner is not Jewish. Ditto for many more of the people who really do have real influence.
I find your comments rather surprising. In addition, you don't seem familiar with the term 'anti semitism' as used in the vernacular. For a long time now, the term has been used to signify anti Jewish remarks.
And as for you being tired and fed up with the very term 'anti semitism' - I must remind you that tt's not you that racial slurs are directed at, it's us! And I can assure you we get fed up with the lies told about us, far more than you are tired of the term 'anti semitism'.

It's unfortunately a first amendment rights issue. The reason we're not (entirely) known as a tyranical country is because we even allow the rotten KKK to exist and speak their blasphemy.

Trust me, there are plenty more anti-Islamic people than anti-Semites. Shouldn't your question, at the very least, propose that all anti-[insert word] be kicked off of Yahoo! Answers? Why only the anti-Semites? And why, if someone thinks that Zionists control the media, are they anti-Semitic? Why, siply because someone disagrees with Zionism or disagrees with a Jew is he or she labeled as an anti-Semite? You make it sound like all Gentiles are anti-Semitic.
I won't get political with this. But your proposal is flawed. Wait, does that make me an anti-Semite?

First - criticizing Israeli actions and policies and government is NOT being anti-Semitic! It's the same as disciplining a child - the actions should be the target (bad behavior) NOT the person (bad girl or boy). I'm super, super, super tired of having the term "anti-Semitic" thrown around to shut down any reasonable criticism of actions.
Second - both Jews AND Arabs are BOTH Semitic!! In essence the two groups are cousins, being descendants from the sons of Abraham.
Finally - I do not believe Jews control all the media. However, although the overall Jewish population may be small, there are some Jews who are very rich and in powerful positions, thus being able to have quite an affect on some parts of the media.

You can't get rid of the anti semites because they use multiple accounts on yahoo answers. I wish I knew where all the power we have so that I can have some too. A lot of us study and work hard to get just where we are. I know so many Jews who are struggling just to get by here where I live.
It's all stereotyping.

I guess first they have to be proven to be anti-semites, not just a word thats thrown around aimlessly?
if i feel that the media controls and tells the people how to think, that doesn't mean i hate anyone, if I believe the government of America controls and uses Israel, that doesn't mean I hate Americans, and no I don't think I'm a coward to say that Israel has human rights abuses towards Palestinian people, and I don't think Im anti- semite because I have searched and learned the truth. Use Jews as a scapegoat for my own problems. No, I believe in human rights and want peace between Israel and Palestine so that one day all can live in Peace. But I will tell you what I hate , this word anti-semite. Peace!
edit at mike: I did not necessarily take it personally against you. I have been called this word many times. And I see it being used against many others , many times. But also i just don't understand why all are so angry about media control? It comes in every shape and form. And I know very well who you are speaking about. I personally saw nothing wrong with his post, if I could only remember all the points, Israel running out of water, many more, but they were all facts. And at your level if you now need to consort to name calling, (funnyZ00)whats going on here? I think we need to get more control and be respectful at the very least.

Well- no matter how ignorant someone is in what they say, we come from a nation that allows free speech. You begin to knock off one group and where do you stop? How far do the words have to go? It is a very controversial debate. If a group/person is saying profane words against anyone or anything- they often should be knocked off- or we think- of course many of us have grown to use these words ourselves to express rage against justice. That is why most of these sites use a process of counting actions against a person and also terminating someone if they seem threatening people with violence.

Hang on in there wait for the oil to run out,
It isn't just the Jews that are hated the Muslims hate all the infidels with no tolerance for any religion they don't even care about there own when they put women and children in the firing line.
We have to wait until they love their children more than they hate their enemy.
This is not a rant against Muslims as there are some very good people that are not brainwashed by old Imans in the Mosques who interpret the Koran to suit themselves to stir up violence, they just want power to dominate the world and money.

Hi MikeInRI, it is a common belief that the Jews control the most of the media sources in North America, especially newspapers. Everybody thinks so here in Canada. I don't understand why you think it is anti-semetism to believe so. It is not an insult. It is just that the Jews have more control of the media than other religious groups.
You know that I am not anti-semite but I do believe that the Jews control most of the media sources in North America

First of all, I'm a little irritated. Our people control multiple governments and the entire world. I am 22 and the In'tl Jewish Conspiracy (IJC) has yet to give me any amount of land to control. What is going on here?
I do think that the two points risk being confused. Freedom of speech is an important liberty, and certainly without it no one would feel that they were living in an "open democracy." That said, it would technically be possible to have a society controlled by a minority in which free speech is tolerated in order that people learn to blow off steam in stupid ways (yahoo answers?) and not by protesting or engaging in more...substantial...forms of opposition.
So no, I don't think that the fact that anti-Semites are allowed to voice their opinion is proof that Jews do not control all media and government.
I think that history, and the historic statements and actions of nations like the US and UK AGAINST ISRAEL'S INTERESTS are proof that the Jews do not control all of these governments.
Also, the idiots overlook strategy. Without Israel and Turkey the US would have NO loyal allies in the Middle East. You think Syria and Iran will step in to fill that void and spread the message of the US? ... Yeah... I didn't think so either. Quid pro quo. Welcome to international relations, anti-Semites.
World control is one of the oldest lies of the anti-Semites. It's up there with us using blood to make matzot... despite the fact that blood is NOT KOSHER AT ALL.
