Sounds like your worried, uh?
Anyway, they can collect physical evidence and run DNA samples. That is the BEST evidence in the world! One tiny hair and the perp goes to prison!
If no physical evidence is located, than her victim statement is going to be very powerful. A suspect would be interviewed and asked to take a polygraph. If they refuse? Wow... that sends a very powerful message to the jury. A victims account and positive ID of the attacker is very damning.
And when a jury looks in the eyes of a 14 year old rape victim, tearfully reliving the horrors of the crime, they see themselves, their daughters and grand daughters.
Convictions are almost always assured. And then its Prison for the defendant.
You know, the other prisoners really HATE child rapist in the joint. They tend to let the perp have a lot of their own medicine.
This is the second time I answered your question.
Dude......... You are going to get convicted.

Public defenders suck. They don't give a **** about you. They have so many cases on their desks and your just another one. They will bargain with the prosecuting attorny and tell you that is all they could do. Most likely you will get charged. My public defender was having breakfast every morning with the State attorney....come to find out. They would go over cases and come to agreements. If the girl said you had sex with her your going down. Get a Lawyer.

she is 14 so at worst, it is STATUATORY rape even if she said yes. You have a witness that you did NOT have sex with her? That would help IF...your witness is believable. What did you do that would make her SAY you raped her ? The witness will help here if your stories are the same, but DO NOT LIE, because if you do and they find out, that will make it even worse. You are 19 and an adult. Stand up for yourself and defend the charge if you really did not do it.

It probably will go to trial. If the witness is a friend of the guys then the girls lawyer can probably cast doubt on the witnesses credibility based on the fact that it is a friend and friends are willing to stick up for the person in trouble.
My advice to the guy is to see if you can find an additional witness.

I suggest you get a REALLY Good lawyer, selling your car if you have to, doing whatever you have to do to get a lawyer. They may be willing to bill you later for some of the defense. Do WHATEVER you have to do to get a real lawyer and defend yourself or your going to be screwed up for years.
Otherwise your going to prison, and yes just on her word possibly.

Are you being honest? If so, don't let this follow you the rest of your life. Take the public defender and insist on your case.

It doesn't sound good for you. A lot of rape cases are he said she said cases and sometimes that's enough for a conviction. A lot of people don't believe that girls lie about being raped.

Yikes. That's a baaad situation. It's hard to give an objective opinion, as we don't have all the facts. It's really your word only, why does this girl accuse you of rape? Something must have happened.
