Truth is there's really nothing to learn. Once you understand that you need to align the shutter speed indicator with the aperture indicator for a correct exposure (the camera's meter helping you do this), you're done.
What you do need to learn is about exposure, i.e. when to override the camera's light meter -- and the manual mode allows you to have full control doing so.
I've read many books on exposure and the one that stands out heads and shoulders above all : "Understanding Exposure: How to Shoot Great Photographs with a Film or Digital Camera (Updated Edition) (Paperback) by Bryan Peterson"

There is no point in doing so, even if you could with that particular camera. The whole point of Manual is to be able to depart freely from the camera's recommendations. In Manual exposure you have two controls - Shutter Speed and Aperture. Play with them and see what happens. Experimenting in digital costs nothing.

You learn by doing. Read your Owner's Manual.
One way is to set a shutter speed and then adjust exposure with the f-stop. Or you can set an f-stop and adjust exposure with the shutter speed. Leave the ISO at one setting. Changing more than 1 variable at a time leads to confusion.

I learn by reading books and trial and error. Fotoace is right you will learn faster by attending a photography course.

Trial and error. Try taking shot of same subject using different fstops, etc. MAKE NOTES, including frame number, setting, etc.
It may take a long while, but it will be worth it.
