My son is 16 months and only has his two bottom teeth. Is this normal. He isnt even showing signs of teething anymore. I'm getting nervous about this, i see other kids younger than him with a mouthful. Some one please tell me what is going on!!!!

Look a dentist will tell you that the later your childs teeth come in the better. Because the child is older his teeth are easier to take care of and less likely to get caries. He is more likely to be off the bottle and thats always good for the teeth. If you continue to be worried take him to a dentist and ask them.

I feel you on this one. My daughter is 11 months and only has 2 and she just got those 2 two months ago. My other 2 kids started getting teeth at around 3-4 months and by the time they were 12 months had a mouth full of teeth. I'm not sure if this is really true, but I heard that the longer it takes for them to come out, the healthier they are. Looks, like we should both ask or doctor or dentist.

I have sited to sources below with charts indicating around the age what teeth should be coming in. At 16 months your son should have more then 2 teeth and I would suggest taking him for a dental visit to ensure that things are okay. He may just be a late bloomer, but just to be on the safe side a dentist can give you more insight into the matter.

I used to think the same thing "something is wrong" she doesn't have teeth. Everyone told me it was fine. My daughter is now almost 2 and is still missing like 6 teeth. Their growth rate is just different. Don't worry your son will get his teeth when they are ready to come in.

I don't know how many teeth he should have, my son is 15 months old and has 16 teeth so I think that all babies are different.

I know a boy in my daycare that got his last tooth at 3 1/2yso. does he have his molars yet? all kids are different, my son is just filling out the top teeth, his last on the top came through yesterday. my daughter had 2 bottom teeth at age 1, but by 18 months she had 2 on top and bottom. sometimes it takes longer than others. rub his gums for stimulation. I bet they will come in soon. If they don't ask his doctor.

My son is 10 mos. and doesn't have any. I'm a little worried about my son too. How old was your son before he got his first? He got his first two, I think he'll be OK.
