13th place only pays what the scheduled portion of the point fund is for that position. Greg Biffle was 13th in points last year and his points fund payout was $744,907.

With the Chase being expanded to 12 drivers, NASCAR eliminated the $1 million dollar bonus to the highest non-chase driver (11th place for 2004-06) as well as the on-stage appearance.

Side-note to the other answers here...the drivers that are in the top-25 in points receive money from the championship point fund, and they are invited to the awards banquet along with the team's owner. But only the drivers in the Chase will appear on stage.

How boring might the final 5 races be if in common terms the drivers who made the chase get to race. and because there are various sponsors available on different vehicles besides the incredible 12, those sponsorship funds only have been given precise down the crapper. NASCAR might lose too lots funds and seats does no longer be crammed... i do no longer comprehend what could be completed. On one hand I hate the chase...a driving force works puzzling all season long and gets wins in common terms to have it no longer matter while the chase comes and all and sundry gets a sparkling slate... on the different hand the chase does upload some exhilaration to the final 10 races...you comprehend they're racing for the championship however the others are racing for a win. If something ain't broke they could desire to no longer be fixing it...yet thats NASCAR's way.

They are the 12th loser....
The top 12(It was just the top 10 before the change this year) will get to go to the awards banquet, 13th on cannot.
Basically 13th is just the best of the worst, and really doesn't get anything to speak of.
Greg Biffle was last years 13th place guy, and he took home 4.6 mil in winnings.
Hope this helps.

They receive no monetary reward. The only thing they know is they are guaranteed a spot in the Daytona 500 per league rules as of now. Who knows what new rule will come out in the off season.
