I have a 'sociopathic personality'. I can switch My emotions off, or at least, over ride them. This is very handy for Me as I am a Male Nurse and tend to take on those jobs that are less 'romantic' than others. This is not a mental disorder. It is a result of having seen too much of the dark side of human nature. It is actually a benefit rather than an impediment.

Take your pick! I have been variously diagnosed with 'Clinical Depression', 'Bi-Polar' and 'Borderline Personality Disorder'!! After 14+ years of going round the revolving door of the mental health 'system', I have finally found my way through and am facing life (and myself) with new-found confidence, acceptance - and even (en)joy(ment)! There IS 'life after mental illness' - my way through was a combination of medication, 'talking' therapy (Gestalt) and NON -judgemental Buddhism. I wish you well.
