My brother will have been married 25 years next week. Buying them anything silver just isn't their style.

I think that a gift certificate somewhere is a wonderful Idea .... is there a place that does massages near where your brother lives? If he and his wife enjoy that sourt of thing (i know i do!) you can purchase them a 'couples' massage (the massage is done in the same room opposed to in seprate rooms)

Do they have a hobby together? (If they like sports, maybe you can buy them tickets to a game comming up.)

They've been married for a long time - which tells me that they probably (hopefully lol) enjoy the company of one another. Try to get them something that will encourage quality time!! People are always so busy with work and house work and paying the bills and this and that - that they often forget how much they enjoyed spending some real quality time together.
Perhaps you can purchase them things that they can use to go on a 'date' together. Gift certificates to a favorite resteraunt and then some to a local movie theater (dinner and a movie).

What ever you think of, just make sure that it is customized to their liking.

Good luck!

What you should do is scan a bunch of pictures from their lives together and buy them one of those electronic picture frames.

They rotate all the pictures around, kind of like a screensaver.

Or you can just make them a nice cd full of pictures from their lives that they can play on their tv set.. You can even set it to music which is nice (or a photo album if you're not computer savvy).

If that's too much find a really nice photo of them, blow it up and frame it. A lot of studios will splice in a bunch of photos together for you (or you can do it yourself) like a collage (perhaps of the kids in there too or their parents etc.) and then bring the disc in to them for printing (Like Costco) or any good photo place can do it for you if you just bring in the photos.

And/or take them out for dinner somewhere nice, on a different night than their anniversary if that interferes with thier plans, or to a nice theatre production, a concert, something out of the ordinary.

Make it more about memories than materialistic things.

It's not a federal offence to not get them silver.

But you could get them a silver-ish picture frame or something that suggests silverness or silverosity.

Otherwise, just get them something you think they'd love.

That's really the point of gift-giving, isn't it? Making them happy by giving them something that they'll love, and that shows you care, because you were able to figure out what to give them that would please.

If there's something you know they'd love, that you can afford, get it. Dont' worry about whether it comes in silver.

You didn't say what their style is. Need more info. I would get them a weekend getaway, someplace where they have always wanted to go and never got around to going. There are a ton of online travel agencies. Good luck!

You could give them a gift card or gift certificate to their favorite restaurant. A bottle of their favorite wine would be good as well.

You know your brother better than any of us. What does he like? Does he have a good sense of humor? Something funny is always a good gift.
