Grandma is right...a piece of raw steak also will help heal the bruising faster. But it has to stay there for hours at a time.

Those are old home remedies that do work.

once when I was much younger (5?) and staying with my grandma i was stung by a wasp. I yelled and she told me to hold on and ran inside. She came back out with half of a yellow potato and a role of masking tape. She proceeded to strap the cut side of the potato to my chest where i was bit. I don't know if there is any merit, but your grandma story reminded me of my grandma story.
Good luck with the eye though.

Never heard of that one :)

If you have an ice pack or bag of peas- that will help the swelling a lot. But please go to your optometrist just to make sure there was no damage inside your eye. It will definitely take a week or so for the bruising to go away.

NO. Never heard of that. Try some ice to help with the swelling. Please make sure that you have your eye looked at by an optometrist to make sure there is no damage to the eye.
