If you are an adult, your BMI of 22.3 is right in the middle of the safe range of 18.5 to 25. If you lose 10lb, your BMI would drop to 20.8, still well within the safe range. You need to do two things for the best results: start a program of aerobic/cardio exercising, 30-45 minutes, 3 times a week, and start a sensible diet which drops the calories but maintains good nutrition.

(If you are under 20 years old, go to http://www.kidshealth.org/kid/exercise/weight/bmi.html to check where your BMI falls. The safe ranges for kids depend on age, and are a bit different from the ones for adults.)

Consumer Reports recently rated the Volumetrics Eating Plan as the best approach to weight-loss dieting. Simply put, for each food, calculate the caloric density by dividing the number of calories in a serving by the weight of the serving. Then you focus your attention on eating more low-density foods than high-density ones. They fill you up sooner, so your calorie intake drops, and you lose weight. You can continue the plan indefinitely (after you get to your desired weight, just add a few high density foods to maintain it), so this diet has a good chance to keep you at your desired weight once you get there. There is a book available, "The Volumetrics Eating Plan", published this year.

You sound so much like a woman. (The one's that say they are fat, but they are not. I'm not saying all women say this. I'm only referring to the ones that do. And I have honestly never seen this in a guy.) If you are seriously worrying about being 10 stone, 3 lbs (143 lbs) at a height of 5 feet 6 inches, you are exaggeratedly overreacting. I am 12 stone, 2 lbs (170 lbs) and 5 feet 9 inches, and I'm a little chubby and I have a girlfriend. Maybe you just need to man up and ask someone out. If you're honestly thinking that girls only care about body, then you must either be really dense or not know anything about girls.

First of all, you write 10 lbs. and then you say 10 stone 3. We don't know how to translate that equasion, but the simple answer no matter whether you want to loose stones or pounds is to eat less calories than using less calories....it is as simple as that. For added benefit, exercise on a regular basis as well.

So, you're 64 Kilos or 140 Lbs. Anyway, here's an article I found that might help. It says, "If you think you need to lose 10 pounds, you can follow some simple suggestions that can help you. But, before you jump in, ask yourself if it's really necessary."

Hope it helps.
