Under the ten commandments, no one is allowed to have sex, sleep with, or get a married person pregnant, etc. Then why is it ok for god to get a married woman pregnant? Am I to believe that he is above and beyond the rules? If we are created in his image, then should I be correct in assuming that he should go to hell for breaking one of his own commandments.

I think it's funny christians always call someone a troll when they don't like or don't have a logical answer to a question they don't like. Also, I'd like to point out to everyone who answered negatively that you all had to point out that Mary wasn't married. Are you saying that it is ok for god to impregnate any woman without her or her fiance's permission. At no point in my question did I say that god had sex with mary. If he brought himself upon her and she became pregnant to which point she gave birth to a child, then yes he did impregnate her. To the two who stated I didn't know what it feels like to be cheated on, you obviously don't know me. I have been cheated on before and got over it. If someone has cheated on you, then I am sorry. They weren't meant for you. There were several answers I wanted to pick for best answer, but Set's answer was closest to the point I was trying to make. Thank you all for your input.

Well, if 'he' isn't guilty of adultery then 'he' is guilty of making an unmarried woman pregnant in whatever way 'he' did it. Should 'he' not be setting a good example for all of us. We're not supposed to have sex before marriage, but, 'he' gets to 'cause he's God. I also wonder if 'he' asked Joseph if he minded being the father of his illegitimate child. Just because they weren't married doesn't mean it's ethical using another man's woman without even asking. I would consider that an abuse of power. I also wonder: Did 'he' pay child support?

In this category, there's always people like you, asking inflammatory questions without getting their facts straight, if you can call any infos about religion "facts"...and then a lot of answerers getting offended and trying to explain the unexplainable.
I don't need religion to know that adultery is wrong. Anything that hurt people and involve cheating, lying, betrayal and such is wrong in my book.
As far as God is concerned, He did not have sex with Mary...it was an immaculate conception, a miracle, something good, compared to something bad like adultery. Mary did not cheat and such, and also she was not married at the time, which is a fact I just learned.
Your question seems to be about you being pissed off at God because you think he committed adultery and he’s an hypocrite.
I think you should either believe in God because you need faith or you should not believe if it bothers you.

Actually, God didn't "get a married woman pregnant". Mary was not married when she was pregnant with Christ. She was engaged to Joseph and preparing for the wedding and the marriage. God didn't have sex with someone in order for Mary to have the Christ child. The 10 commandments states not to have adultery for a simple reason. The marriage between a man and a woman points towards the covenant that Christ has with the church. Look at Ephesians 5:25. Christ's sacrifice was for the church, and husbands are joined to their wives in this same manner, in this same type of love. To join in on a relationship is messing with the covenant that is before God. Also, you do not go to hell based upon breaking a commandment. You go to hell for refusing to accept Christ.

You're playing a foolish game trolling like this.
Your question is absurd.
But no God did not commit adultery with a married woman and He did not break His own commandment and we are the created not the creator!!!
Think about that.
Does the clay say to the potter "make me a lovely vase, not a spittoon". No it doesn't; it is the potter who decides and the potter who decides if it is good enough for him or should be thrown out. He made them, the vase and spittoon, he can do what he wants with them.
God made you and I and the whole of the universe. We do not get to tell Him what to do! How He should do it or when, where or why. Nothing.
Who are we to instruct God?

If you have to ask then no answer will suffice. First of all God is without sin. Mary was not married and was impregnated by The Holy Spirit. It was a Miracle not adultery.
Read The Book!!!
God Bless!!!

Here is the view in the Gospel of Philip which deals with the contradiction you point out in orthodox christianity.
Some said, "Mary conceived by the Holy Spirit." They are in error. They do not know what they are saying. When did a woman ever conceive by a woman? Mary is the virgin whom no power defiled. She is a great anathema to the Hebrews, who are the apostles and the apostolic men. This virgin whom no power defiled [.gap..] the powers defile themselves. And the Lord would not have said "My Father who is in Heaven" (Mt 16:17), unless he had had another father, but he would have said simply "My father".

No way, he is allowed to change the rules as we play the game... He is God you know... You must remember that King David not only committed adultery with Bathsheba , but he also got her pregnant and had her husband killed so he won't get after him. After all that God blessed King David tremendously! He made Bathsheba King David's favorite wife. She was the mother of King Solomon, the wisest man ever to set foot on this Earth!!! So unquestionably discret adultery has its merits... too bad that the clergy made it look so bad... Preachers are not allowed to give the Christians the whole picture because of political reasons... The bread on their table depends on how they present the current doctrines of their own Church brand... King David got away with only a slap on the wrist...! and he earned the title of "a man after God's own heart!" The private life of King David is hardly presented to the general public... it is kinda X rated...

God is extremely hypocritical obviously. He is constantly saying no adultery and yet he goes and gets Mary pregnant. He says do not kill and he murders people left right and centre in the Bible (he actually is the largest mass murderer in history). And people still want to throw themselves down on the ground and kiss his feet and butt. What is wrong with people? The Bible God makes the devil look good.

As salaamu 'alaiky, my very misinformed friend.
Insha'Allah, adultery destroys the family structure, breaks down family trust and relationships, weakens communities and societies and spreads diseases.
Insha'Allah, you might want to actually read the Christian New Testament ( a good English translation will do as I doubt that you can read biblical Greek...) as well as the Holy Qur'an (again, use and English translation as I am very certain that you can not read Arabic). Then consider deeply what you have read with an open mind and heart. I pray that Allah, Subhanna wa Ta'ala, will guide you to the truth.
Ma'a salaam.
