I made jungle juice last night...DIDNT EVEN GET BUZZED?!?

ok after looking at a bunch of recipes online last night i went out and got a fifth of everclear and a fifth of bacardi 151, mixed in 6 gallons of koolaid, a gallon of hawaiian punch, and about 3 gallons of sprite plus some cut up fruit...now the math i did was that since i have about a half gallon of 95% alc and a half gallon of 75% alc, id essentially have about a gallon of 85% alcohol, and 9 gallons of 0% alcohol. soo i figure 85% divided by 10 total gallons would make my jungle juice 8.5%, almost twice what a normal beer has. so anyways i start drinking this **** and im thinking its too good to be true, and sure enough it is....i had at least 18 cups of this **** and wasnt even buzzed!?! any help would be greatly appreciated.

1 L Everclearor or PGA alcohol
5.25 L (3 1.75L bottles) vodka
1 bottle peach schnapps
1 pint Bacardi rum
1 bottle apple schnapps
10 L Sprite
1 L Sunny Delight orange juice
1 L triple sec
1.75 L bottle gin
1 bottle Sour Apple Pucker schnapps
4 bottles Boone's Farm Strawberry Hill wine
8 L Hawaiian Punch
2 containers orange juice concentrate

Use a large container ice chest or similar (new trash can). Allow the fruit to soak in all the alcohol for about 4 - 12 hours. Add all the juice and let sit overnight. Serve the next day.

Cheaper version of cousre you can double, triple it or more!!!
2 Cups red grapefruit juice (Ocean Spray Ruby Red)
3 Cups pineapple juice (Dole)
4 Cups orange juice (Tropicana)
1 Cup ginger ale
1 2/3 Cups Rum
Fruit slices: lemon, lime, oranges or what ever your want or none at all
Mix all in a 2 quart container. Don’t use a blender for this usually. Don’t add ice to the mixture but pour it over ice in a tall glass. This drink mixture is best if left for a few days in the frig. (But that is hard to do!!) Serve in anything from a ice chest to trash can to a pretty punch bowl with the fruit floating in it for company. You can add maraschino cherry juice to this drink (enough to make it a pinky-orange color) but it will be really sweet.

I have never heard of putting koolaid in it.
I make this and it will knock your socks off
1 fifth Everclear (190 proof)
6 bags Fruit (berries, cherries, pineapple, or whatever)
2 1/2 gal Fruit punch
Mix all the stuff togather in a big container. Start with everclear add juice and then fruit. Stir togather, don't eat fruit for a while let it soak up some of the everclear.

but heed my warning this stuff is very strong!! If desired make any amount you wish, just double the ingredients.

Did you remember to mix it up? liquors and juices have a different float ratio so your liquor could of went to the bottom or top. Also, sounds like you had way to much koolaid in there and 3 gallons of sprite! Jungle juice is suppose to be to the point where it's strong but you can't taste it. You have to have an even balance.

Maybe you just didn't feel the buzz. Sometimes alcohol can affect the body but not the mind. Did you feel drowzy or ill?

Maybe your body is used to high alcohol intake and it is difficult to register the buzz anymore. I don't know how often or how much you drink, but I know that when your body has adjusted to regular high amounts it just considers it normal and may have little to no reaction.

i think it has something to do with how much sugar you put into it. It sound like too much! Also, 8.5% isn't very high
